5 day stay witnessed poor service
Another corporate hotel. Guests arriving in conveyor belts. Most guests stayed here 1-2 nights then leave. We were here for 5 days so saw quite a lot. Management/staff in restaurant bar do not care for their guests - you are just a number. Restaurant staff appear to be over worked and stressed. I saw a women in grey suit (manager clearly on a power trip) shouting at the bar staff in front of other guests. Really toxic environment. I suggest managers use their common sense and speak to their staff in private. I've stayed in many Mercure hotels but this one was disappointing. Breakfast was limited for vegetarians. My mum had limited food she could eat there. I had brought some instant oat porridge from back home. I used to ask the staff to heat this for her everyday... That was horrible. It was like I'd asked the staff for their kidneys. No friendly smiles or happiness at breakfast. One even seen to raise her voice at a guest at breakfast all because he asked her for some tea (self service she said and walked off). He had limited mobility for God sake!!! At breakfast the tables are arranged so close to each other you may as well be sitting on top of the guest next to you. Its not a 4 star id say more 3 based on their services and attitude towards guests. The cleaner however just lovely, always greeting guests with a smile. As for location it's really good. Within easy access to MBK mall and other malls. Our room small with stains on the carpet.

Exceptional 10.0
Great Location, Wonderful Views of the city
Our stay in Mercure made the Bangkok experience even better. Our superior room was very big with loads of space to store our bags and clothes. The bed however wasn't very comfortable and gave my husband a backache. The in room fridge, however, is tiny. I would have expected it to be slightly bigger so we can put some fruit or bottles of water in the fridge. You are given only two bottles of water in 24 hours and if you run out then there aren't any more available so you need to make sure you have extra water (which you can buy from the 7/11 on the ground floor). I don't see why extra water can't be given though if you need it. If you happen to not have used all of your water one day they would not give you two more for the next day. The breakfast buffet is huge and with all the usual varieties but unfortunately lacked taste in the cooked variety of food - Until the day they had the miso soup as an option :) That was amazing!!! Everyday the best thing about the buffet was the papaya they put out. Thai papaya is the best I have tasted anywhere. That itself says a lot about the taste of the cooked food. They are also very good at selling their breakfast which, unfortunately, meant that the breakfast place got really busy and sometimes we had to wait to get a seat for breakfast It was very nice of them to have a halal corner but that was pretty unimaginative. Every day they had chicken sausage with two other options which weren't really appetising (apart from when they ha

Good location, reputable hotel holdings, BUT...
We booked and requested for adjourning rooms, however, we did not know that adjourning rooms means that 1 of them will not have same layout as another. We were given one which is more senior citizen friendly, we appreciate that but it would be better if the hotel could inform us about this because we certainly do not need a senior citizen friendly room. When requested for change, they have it on different level which will cause inconvenience to us should we change it. Reservation agent was nice enough to assist in our reservation issue Pros of this hotel: - Directly located at National Statium BTS, - Walking distance to MBK, - accessible to 7-11 (within hotel and walking distance to another), mac which is 24 hours, - Traffic condition is not as bad as compared to pratunam area (plat mall/amari) Cons: - They do not have the basic amenities like toothbrush and bathrobe well prepared prior to your arrival, - They only have ONE type of pillow - and that is the soft kind; if you do not fancy soft pillows, it may be an issue for you, - Room service is not even done at 1pm (BKK Time), - Mosquitoes can be found at the waiting lobby, but it is not that bad. Generally, we have high expectation and standards of Accor hotels. However, Mercure Siam may have lowered that which caused disappointment in Accor branding. We have been staying in Novotels, and thought that Mercure should say the same considering the fact that they are under 1 group, but it seems otherwise.

Good location
Located across from mbk mall and right by the National stadium bts. Convenient 7 eleven downstairs but no air conditioning in the hotel elevators. Rooms are a decent size and clean but they might as well remove the mini fridge as it doesn't keep anything cool. The drainage from the shower is also very slow going . Wendy's laundry is located down the alley from the hotel-its cheap and they iron & put your clothes into a bag afterwards. The first night we stayed at the hotel they told us upon check-in that the room we booked with two beds had a leak in it and we were forced to stay in a room with only one bed. They could've offered us a free breakfast as a courtesy for our inconvenience but they didn't so I feel like the customer service end was a bit lacking as my companion and I had no choice but to sleep in the same bed. It also meant that we couldn't properly unpack that night and had to bring our luggage back down to front desk the next day so that they could move us to a different room. After the room switch, our free WiFi password/login stopped working. Other than that, it was an ok stay.

Fabulous hotel and Great Location

It was very nice of them to have a halal corner but that was pretty unimaginative. Every day they had chicken sausage with two other options which weren't really appetising (apart from when they had the fried fish which was delicious) The bathroom lighting wasn't bright enough and there was no hair conditioner with the toiletries. They ask guests to reuse the towels to save on water and energy but there is no where to dry the towels I know it sounds like I am nit picking but this is Mercure and we expect everything to be absolutely perfect with it. The staff at the bellman desk were absolutely amazing. They go out of their way to help you organise taxis and those taxis run on metre too Over all an excellent stay and would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
