Hotel Reina Isabel, Quito
Great start to Ecuador vacation
Our first trip to Ecuador. This hotel was so welcoming and comfortable. Excellent attentive service.

The hotel was great: lovely breakfast, clean and comfortable room and very spacious. The street outside however was extremely noisy with car alarms and police sirens. If you need quiet this isn’t a good choice.

Could be better...
I booked a two-bed room on for 8 nights and, overall, it was ok. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the location is pretty good. However, these positives were offset by several negatives. For starters, when we got to the hotel to check-in, they said I had to pay an extra $12 a night because there were two of us. They didn’t explain what the $12 was for, simply that we had to pay because there were two of us instead of one, despite having a two-bedroom booked. Even though it didn’t make sense, I paid the additional charge because it was passed 1 am and we were exhausted. On, the price is the same if you select 1 room, 1 adult, or 1 room, 2 adults (go ahead, check it out). I later explained this to the manager and she agreed that I was erroneously charged, but for some reason, couldn’t reverse the charge. She did allow me to check out later (8pm), but overall it was pretty ridiculous. The hotel was advertised as $62 a night. After all the fees and extra charges (NOT including breakfast), I ended up paying $90 a night. The hotel is also very noisy in the mornings and you can hear everything with an echo. Also, the WiFi in the rooms was spotty at times. Overall, the hotel isn’t too bad if you’re only staying a night or two, but for an extended stay, I’d go somewhere else.

Great Hotel in Central Quito!
Great hotel! Friendly staff! My package included breakfast which was great and balanced. Centrally located close to shops, restaurants and an easy walk to the local artisan market. I recommend!
