Very Disappointed
We stayed here around 3 years ago and just loved this Hotel with its old world charm and antique furniture through out the rooms. This year we thought as we where staying for 3 nights we would book a VIP room to really enjoy our stay but where completely taken back when showed our room. It was dimly light, musty smell, furniture that should have been thrown out. Bathroom door you could not lock. Bathroom towels that where worn out. After a day with fans and the air con going the musty smell went. On our second mourning there was a big thunderstorm, we woke to find around 20mm on throughout bedroom floor, obvious this happens nearly every time it rains hence the musty smell. You had to give your order for breakfast by the night before for what reason l don't know as thethere was only 3 choices one the Lakski soup was only available before 9am. The American breakfast came with only one fried egg two small sausage and bake beans, two pieces of bread if you want them toasted you had to do it yourself. There is a Mosque at the rear of the Hotel so they have prayers early mourning though out the day and up till 9pm at night so it can get noisy at times. Definitely would not stay here again as l know there are better Guesthouse 's and Hotels in the area.

Poor 2.0
Abysmal and sorely overpriced.
This hotel was a huge disappointment, so much so my friend and I checked out after only one night (we had paid for 4 nights) and went back to our previous hotel just around the corner - Chulia Mansion which is an absolute gem. PROS The lady at the reception desk was very nice and very helpful. She found us another room the next morning after a request to be moved on entering the room allocated to us. CONS Rooms facing the street are subjected to never ending noise - cars and motorbikes and until quite late the singing from the bar. There is NO soundproofing - in fact we could faintly hear conversations at the reception desk through our floorboards. The room, though large was sorely lacking in furniture. No bedside table and the lamp between the beds was on the floor. The remaining furniture was NOT antique or heritage; rather something from the 1950's. The light from the airconditioning unit was bright enough to keep waking me up - it shone right onto the pillow area. No shelving to lay out personal belongings. The bathroom was a nightmare with no dedicated shower cubicle and no curtain so the floor became saturated as did the washbasin area. The wooden doors and the step up into the bathroom also a nightmare to use. No elevator and steep, narrow stairs up to our room. No shoes allowed upstairs - only slippers. Breakfast was awful as was the breakfast room. Hotel very poor value for money. In need of serios restoration and attention.
