Okay for one night
Room very good, although overpriced. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, tasty it was not. Would not stay again.

It was OK
One thing I really dislike as a woman travelling alone on business, is having to walk into a bar full of regulars to check in. Having said that, the owner was lovely and showed me to my room starigh away, getting me out of the bar area. He did apologise for the heating in the room having been turned off and switched it back on, but I sat with my coat on for 3 hours until the room was warm enough, so not the greatest start. There was a lot of noise through the windows and being a gusty night, there was a draft from somewhere that kept creaking the bathroom door. Also, I wasn't too impressed with the swearing outside my window at 11pm while 2 people had an argument. Not the owners fault, but if the windows were better, it wouldn't have been so loud. Worth noting that breakfast doesn't start til 8am. I was given a refund on breakfast as I had to be in work for 8am, but not ideal. Bed was ok, but I could feel the springs. For someone who has no trouble sleeping, this place is fine for a night. If, like me you are a light sleeper, it's not ideal.

Great central location with private parking, quiet
4 of us stayed here for a walking trip, there are plenty of pleasant walks from the town - no need to move the car. The clean, comfortable, spacious rooms were quiet as they are separated from the pub by a small guests-only car park. Friendly staff, decent breakfast. Good value for money.
