HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!
We booked and confirmed this hotel on hotels.com several days in advance, however when we arrived at the hotel (at around 3pm) the proprieter/owner very rudely informed me (looking at handwritten pencil scribbles in his log book!!!!)that they were full and we had no room. He said it was not his fault but hotels.com. He did not offer any suggestions of where else we could go, and rudely walked out of the room while I was still there!!!! I have travelled internationally for so many years and never have I been met with such rudeness. Perhaps hotels-com should reconsider their contract with the hotel??? Gives the search engines a bad name!! Thankfully it was a blessing in disguise- being five months pregnant and with a toddler in the car, my husband drove us to the Tourist Information where the lady (she has similar complaints about the hotel!!) kindly rang around other hotels in Lismore and Ballina to find another one. We ended up staying at a lovely hotel in Lismore and the owner was kind and welcoming, as it should be. Would never, ever recommend the Ballina Centrepoint Hotel!!!

Not Managed properly, Warning to steer clear!
The Hotel Manager walked into our room at 2am! I am the first to admit I left the key in the door while carrying a sleeping baby, yes very stupid but we had the air con. running and our car was there. Who walks around and opens a door, without knocking at 2am, and stands there while I was screaming? We asked to check in at 2pm and for a cot. I booked a family room (4 beds), the manager called to confirm I clarified that I only needed a queen and a cot.He didn't remember talking to me 4 days later) and the room wasn't ready. The manager told me Expedia (we didn't book through) only charged me for a double (hotel sign was 1/2 I paid) then he told me I owed h $10 for the cot; I didn't want the 2 extra beds, during phone call nothing was said about additional fee. I had to put up and down the port-a-cot myself. It took so long to check in our baby didn't get to sleep, and the managers wife complained that the car was fuming out the place and the manager banged on the car to tell my partner to turn the car off. To add insult to that, all I could smell was the managers cigarette smoke everywhere, constantly. The shower soap in the holder from the previous guest. Overall not happy. Note to all who bothers to read my spiel, there was a sign saying the lease was for sale, so in the near future it may be worth trying.

A night spent
There was a mishap with the booking. Apparently Hotels.com gave us a room that was no longer valid. Luckily the owner had a spare room. Even though it was not what we expected, my friends and I were happy enough to have a place to spend the night. The owner was nice enough to give us a discount on the room. Wouldn't recommend for young people. No noises to be made after 9pm. As the room was facing each other, the volume will be echoed. The area as also very quiet. a quick quiet getaway if anyone looking for it.

Just a cheap accommodation place
We stayed in the front balcony room, very noisy during the day, upon arrival had to pay an additional $40 for an extra bed even though we paid for the room online already, very grumpy owners I don't think they like what they are doing.

Abominable service, charged twice=DO. NOT. STAY.
When we arrived we were dealt with by an elderly man smoking in the office, who was confused, stressed & having trouble with the booking, which took atleast 15 minutes all the while smoking, while my wife & 3 year old waiting. I was forced to pay an extra $20. When unpacking the old man said I couldn't take my bike into the room. After arguing with him I refused his direction. He said I should pack up & go somewhere else. Unfortunately we didn't actually that option. After 5 minutes we got a knock on the door. A lady asked what was the problem and why was the old man upset. I explained about the extra $20 & the bike issue. She said not to worry & she'll explain to him that the bike was clean so it is ok to have in the room. The room itself was fine, but dated. Clean linen & bathroom. All facilities working fine hot water, air con & TV. After another 5 minutes we got another knock on the door. It was the old man saying he may of charged me twice. I said we'll sort it out in the morning. He had infact charged me twice, but also two different amounts. In the morning I went to the office after 8am & he wasn't there even though the office hours stated from 8am. Eventually he turned up & said he will fix it up online. After all the stress of my stay, I'm not going to look into this after my holiday. ADVICE: a) stay somewhere else, b) lock your door if you do stay, c) book with your credit card in case he double charges you.
