Unaytambo Boutique Hotel, Cusco
All but ruined the trip to Cusco
They didn't have my 3 night reservation on file from (although I had email confirmation) and one of the nights did not have any vacancy. They were quite unaffected by the idea that a woman and her six year old daughter did not have a place to stay. Their response was a mere shrug and statement "We didn't receive your reservation, what are we supposed to do?" The internet was terrible, without cell service or wifi, I couldn't call to make other arrangements as I kept getting disconnected. I was traveling with a larger group and two of the other people were also staying here. I was able to have a third bed put in their room (for a charge which took 2 days of negotiation to remove from my bill) and my daughter went to stay with other people in a better hotel with more space. Everyday I had to change rooms, they gave assistance if they happened to be available, but most of the time the one or two people working was occupied elsewhere. This also required a lot of waiting to get let in and out of the front door, waiting for a room to be vacated, waiting to ask someone to bring a glass of water to breakfast, etc.
