Fun place to stay!
I *loved* staying here. The only drawback was it's advertised as having wifi in the room but the only wifi available is in the pub itself. Though, after staying, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again knowing that ahead of time. The food was great and the people were as well. In fact, this is the first place I told everyone back home about! :)

rooms clean but dated. Rooms not very soundproof. staff helpful and food good. Location suited to our trip but nothing else close by. 3 guest rooms , to ensure a good nights sleeps it depends on whether other guests are not selfish by keeping TV on into early hours

Perfectly fine for a couple of nights
Shower being blocked was our main issue. We stayed 2 nights and one was Christmas Day so we quite understood them not being able to provide breakfast on that day or Boxing Day and they knocked 20 quid off our bill which we greatly appreciated. Bit of a pity our bed didn’t get made or towels changed overnight. Really lovely and obliging staff.

Myself and my wife stayed for one night only and arrived around 8pm and didn't have an evening meal so I cannot comment on the past reviews of meals. Welcome was ok, we were shown to our room and left to it. Very little information was given, but not really needed as we weren't staying long. Room was small, bed was a simple double with just enough room either side for a side table and very little room at the end of the bed area, just enough for a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bathroom looked recently renovated, but needed finishing properly to give it the wow factor they wanted to achieve. The room was ok cleanliness wise, but it looked and felt tired. Sleep was ok, but would have preferred a larger bed. We had the window opened as it was a little warm, but to do this was a faff, it was an old sash type and a risk of your fingers to keep it open, but it's an old window so what can you do? Breakfast was very poor. Simple full English - All overcooked (or over warmed?) Scrambled egg was like a rubber consistency with very little flavour. Breakfast served in the bar, it wasn't very warm, the fires were out, but you could see on the walls that the fires and candles are usually on, there was a black residue left behind and didn't give a good impression. Not the best, I doubt I'll return, but judging by previous reviews maybe they were just having a bad day.
