Somehow accidentally booked a smoking room, but still was not a miserable experience as the room was tolerable for us. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel and it is in a great location for the Kyoto train and bus station.

Great location, new rooms, sento baths for guests
About two blocks from Kyoto Station, which gives easy access to all tourist sites via trains and buses, and has lots of food options (e.g. ramen street). FamilyMart across the street, and 7-eleven around the corner, but we preferred giving our custom to the mom-and-pop store also across the street. Loved the communal Japanese baths (Sento) which guests can freely use. Free wifi throughout the hotel. The lobby area was great for hanging out and getting some work done. Service was top-notch, as expected from Japanese establishments. Will definitely stay here again if in Kyoto.

New, super clean hotel. Didn't try the Onsen, but had breakfast at the restaurant and it was amazing. Authentic, huge selection of fresh food, intricately prepared and displayed. The rooms are small, but have good storage. The bathroom is tiny and the sink actually extends into the tub. The lobby is spacious and comfortable - computers and shelves of travel books are available for planning stays. Everything is new, clean, well maintained. Located 3 minutes walk from train station. Recommended.

Will choose to stay here again - I am serious!
We chose this hotel bcos of the bath facilities down on 2nd Fl. We reckon it is a must bcos of all the walkings that would incur for the site-seeings everywhere you go in Kyoto. Hotel is really nice and comfortable. Japan hotel rooms are generally small unless you stay in the 5-stars so no complaints. Brightly-lit lobby, friendly & helpful staff (English not a problem), good quality service in every aspect of the hotel. It's a 5+ minutes' walk from Kyoto station but we chose it deliberately in order to avoid people traffic downstairs if we are near the major station area. One more important thing is the quality of guests they attract. People who stay there are polite, quiet and friendly so that is another plus. I will definitely choose this hotel chain again when I go to Kyoto, or even Japan, again. A very impressive hotel indeed and great effort from management to maintain it this way!

Bueno
Smallish rooms, but that is typical of japan. Comfortable beds. The hotel itself is nice, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to Kyoto Station, and also nearby another station.
