Nothing fancy, but a decent place to stay
It's nothing fancy, but if you just need a place to lay your head at the end of the day, it's great. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

White Anchor Inn - - a sightseeing starting point
We stayed at the White Anchor Inn for one night while sightseeing around Boothbay Harbor. It's a short drive to the sights and local restaurants, and the White Anchor Inn was a convenient location. If you are planning to be out and about while at Boothbay, and do not need a hotel or inn with numerous amenities, the White Anchor Inn offers an affordable alternative to higher cost inns and hotels in Boothbay.

1 night stay accomadations were very clean with necessary items included. Small store with light food right next door. Family run business with many repeat guests.

Modest but charming
I had a very pleasant time here. I was in the row of units furthest from the road, each of which has a small deck overlooking a quiet yard. Very peaceful. (I don't know what the rooms without decks are like.) No frills, but cozy. The desk clerk was very helpful with local information.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!
The room was pretty gross, but that wasn't even the biggest issue. After my stay, the White Anchor Inn reported to Hotels.com that I cancelled my stay with them. I assume this is so they didn't have to pay whatever fee they pay to be part of their site, but it also meant I didn't get the rewards for the night that was paid for. I would never recommend this place for their gross rooms or their shotty business practices. I barely made it to book in because they have a limited check in window and I was traveling to the area for work trips. I got into the room just before dinnertime and the room was musty smelling and humid. I turned on the window AC unit which blew more musty smell into the room. The bathroom floor had a big water stain on it from obvious water damage. I wore my shoes most of the time I was in the room because the carpet was gross. In the morning, I got up and showered, but there was no hair dryer so I had to call the front desk and they did bring one to me. The lady running the place was pretty nice, but the condition of the "inn" was terrible. It should be called a motel, because that's what it is.
