Room is exactly as advertised. Great Location.
Great location. Kings Cross is a vibrant area. Fairly Metropolitan, About a 5-10 minute walk to the rail station (Kings Cross) that takes you anywhere in Sydney you need to go. The lodge is an older structure, but well maintained. The room was clean. I wasn't too happy about the WIFI limit on GB's. Its 2017, Sydney is a world class, developed city it should have this stuff automatic. The bathroom is shared, but I never waited to use it. Next to a grocery store (Woolworths). If you need an elevator (skip this hotel). If you are picky with the private bathrooms (skip this hotel). If you are a discerning travel who loves a grand lobby and likes that sort of thing (skip this hotel). If you are the type of traveler who wants a good location, always on the move, and only needs a place to stay this hotel is perfect and cost effective.

Convenient but read review
I reserved a room for one person. Room was very small with a twin bed. It wasn't great but good, comfortable enough for a three nights. The share bathroom was extremely small, almost no room between toilet and sink. I checked the other bathroom on my floor and they were good size. Just the one next to my room (#6 ) was small and uncomfortable. Overall my stay was okay but I probably wouldn't stay there again unless I make sure I get a bigger room and bigger shared bathroom.

Only if you're on a very tight budget.
The hotel was okay for the time I was in Sydney. I was surprised by the fact that the rooms don't have a telephone, as it did make for an inconvenience when I needed to contact people in the area. Also, for single travelers the small room is just enough for one person, but the photos seem to depict larger rooms. If you're traveling with a large amount of luggage, be aware that there is no elevator (lift). Room are reached by walking up one or more flights of stairs. The wi-fi takes a few minutes to connect, but it does work. Overall, I'd recommend travelers take a chance and spend more money for a better hotel.

Noisy at night get a good room
The room was noisy as the recycle and trash bin for a few of the restauranta next door was located just on the other side of the window in my room. Room 6 on the 1st floor. So into the late night you hear the loud noise as things are tossed into the bin. The room was also dark as lighting not adequate. You really get what you paid for. So not really a good value for the room considering what you get. The receptionist was friendly though which was nice. I would not stay here again.
