We loved our stay! We got lucky and had the best ocean view from the balcony. It was the perfect amount of space for 2 adults and 2 kids. The place was very clean and newly remodeled. The town of Kapa'a was nice with great shops and restaurants. The only possible downfall for some people (which wasn't a big deal for us) was that there is no working elevator. They are working on it but in the meantime, it's stairs only to get to the second and third floor. We also learned that the west side of the island has better weather but we also went during a very wet spring. Overall, a great place and we would stay there again.

Great for the price!
My family of 5 stayed here and we absolutely loved the area! Kapa'a is great because it is a short 15 minute drive from the airport and is right in between the popular south shore and north shore of . Kapa'a is full of shops, dining, and more. There is a grocery store and plenty of places within walking distance. We checked in late at night so we had to check in with the guard at the Mokihana two properties away. The building is actually a condo on the beach and our building did not have an ocean view, we were on the third story, with no elevator. The room was nicely remodeled, but if you plan to cook, bring your own pans or you will be sorry. There is also no AC, this was not an issue for us because we came during Thanksgiving when it was cold, we left the windows open during the day. There are two small pools but no spas and no office on site. The bed was too firm and gave my husband back pain. This place can be great for low maintenance families or couples. This is not a resort and there's no fancy restaurant or lobby nor is there room service, things you would expect from a hotel, but for me... it worked fine. When I travel with my family (3 children), I am on a strict budget so the Castle Kauai Kailani met my needs. Would I stay here again? Probably not... I would go for an Air BNB or similar because they offer more such as better kitchen supplies and things like a cooler, chairs, etc. We rented those in Kauai, but it would have been nice to have. Housekeeping at cost.

Central location.
Overall great stay and would stay here again. It's an average place that fit our needs of budget friendly, central location with an ocean view. Everything was comfortable and clean - as expected. The popular beaches are 20 mins north or south, there are not really good beaches in the area of this place. The city is cute but you'll need a vehicle to really see/enjoy the island. I didn't realize there was no air conditioning, just ceiling fans, but I learned that is pretty typical of Kauai.

Deceitful Price, Noisy, Old
Property was listed at $103/nt, however in the fine print there "other fees", making it $195/nt. Deceitful! Check in is 1 mile from property- however there is no sign that tells you so. Property remodeled but old. Bathtub floor was stained brown. No a/c - just on noisy portable unit in one room. Also, garden view was a mossy brick wall in a small back alley. Unit was noisy - both to street noise and people walking by unit since bedroom faces the front walkway.
