Peaceful
The facility has lots of character—we loved the library and other common areas. The turn-down service with the hot water bottle was great for the cold, rainy evenings! Strawberries: yes!!! The staff was helpful, but it would have been nice to have an information sheet with things like the WiFi password, hours for breakfast and dinner, how to operate the safe, etc. so we didn’t have to ask so many questions while settling in. We were disappointed Poas Volcano Park was closed but thoroughly enjoyed the Waterfall Gardens. Overall, a relaxing, peaceful stay.

Worth the drive!
Very remote, need to drive through mountain roads to access. We loved the drive, but bring a GPS or use Waze. We had to detour our route. The location is peaceful and quiet. We had a spacious, clean room with a lovely view of the volcano. The on-site restaurant was fantastic, we had breakfast and dinner and loved it. The hotel has a lot of space to explore and use - sitting rooms, library area, fireplaces, game room, TV room. Outside there are a lot of different birds, and hiking trails on the property. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night - we would have loved to stay longer!
