Environment is beautiful. The beach and scenery is amazing. Access to beach and water was great. Hotel was not luxury but probably the better one on the island which is why they dont have to try hard. Food at the restaurant is overpriced and not great, not a single green vegetable. The buffet night was the best but it again not worth the price. Bathroom toilet stinks and sheets smell. Kinda like camping. Wifi was weak. Better food from local restaurants. Dont rent the stupid cars. Theres no where to drive to. Just walk or rent bike. Was there over a week and could only do two excursions because you need six people to sign up. So that sucked. Very few gluten free options. Not sure who owns this hotel but my suggestion for them is to modernize. But they have little competition on the island so i doubt they will.

This Hotel was very well done and in a beautiful location...we went so my wife could learn scuba diving and the onsite Top Dive facility provided everything we needed. We had a beachfront bungalow with a private jacuzi and it was very nice with AC in the bedroom. Airport shuttle was provided. We utilized both inexpensive bike rent and the small electric cars. WIFI quality was spotty around the property and not very fast.

Paradise on Earth
This is our second stay at Kia Ora and it is the the most wonderful place on earth. Over-water bungalo is amazing with 5 star surfing off the back porch. Marvelous French restaurant and sumptuous breakfast included. Be warned there is nothing else to do on the island worth mentioning. This is a place to get away from it all. No crowds of people. No tour boats. Just the handful of people one sees around the pool or at meals. Great snorkeling and diving excursions at reasonable prices. The "drift snorkel" and Blue Lagoon are peak experiences.

*Very* nice upscale resort.
Very nice place. Room was plush and comfortable. A/C, little tiny private pool that was cute. wall around our bungalow for privacy. Good housekeeping Diving operator on site. Many activities. It was pricey, but consider the location.
