3HB Golden Beach was steps away from decent dining, a well stocked grocery store and the beautiful Oura Beach. The hotel wasn't directly on the beach but there were lounge chairs and drink service for purchase on the beach. The pool was clean and my kids, 9 and 11, loved swimming. The pool bar was very nice for lounging while the kids played in the pool. There were plently of lounge chairs at the pool. No need to rush down at 8am to stake a claim. The lobby staff was amazing. We needed large taxis for our group and they called the service for us each time. Also, my son left his phone in the room and after checkout they came to find us at the restaurant to return it. I wish they offered breakfast service at the hotel but as long as you know to purchase food the night before you will be fine. No restaurants open before 10am but there is a nice little cafe for coffee and pasteries that opens at 8am. There are lots of steps and hills but that is the theme in Portugal.

Two nights in Albufeira. Didn't expect town to be so "party" oriented...was looking for a slightly calmer beachside experience. Not the hotel's fault. Property was very convenient, nice pool set off from busy street/tourist area. Food around the area really mediocre.
