Good 6.0
Steep stairway. Three locked units with a private bath and shared kitchen area with complimentary breakfast foods. Coffee maker, refrigerator in room. Room was oddly not square, so the foot side of the bed was not parallel to the wall, making it kind of tight. Double bed is two singles placed together. Toilet was built on a raised platform with a plastic stool to put you feet on when sitting. Rude people in next room can be heard unpacking, throwing items against the wall, talking, and using shower, toilet, and water. Amazingly didn't hear the manager escort them in. Quiet outside location. Good wifi. Have to make appointment for check in. I asked the owner when the check in person would be there, and she required me to give a time I would be there. I guess they don't live in the area, so they can't let us in. The doorbell buttons are not labeled clearly. Arrive a half hour early and the manager appeared at the appointed time. There was a housekeeper cleaning the other room, and the manager was there earlier. Would have been nice to wait inside. Thankfully we met outside so we didnt have to play doorbell roulette.

Fair 4.0
Good location, but overall would not recommend
Good location, but the room was more like an ABNB and no real breakfast. I couldn't sleep all night since there was a restaurant directly in front of the room and screaming people, people on the phone all night and thin walls. Also, the wifi barely works. I was expecting more of a hotel, vs. an ABNB since I booked this on hotels.com. Also, I could only take a shower for a few minutes before the water went cold. There was no real check-in process and check-in desk, and upon meeting a random guy he took a picture of our Passports which was really sketchy.

Poor 2.0
A last resort...
The only good thing about the place was the location. The internet didn't work most of the time. There was old fruit in a basket and an open box of corn flakes. The room was on the first floor next to the front door that slams shut.

Exceptional 10.0
loving trastevere
Excellent service. very friendly the room was super nice two beds, Trastevere is near everything, and the hotel itself is near a lot of shops and restaurants who open late.

Well worth the 27 steps & close to gelato stores
Cozy and comfortable stay in imaginatively remodeled rooms in an ancient building. Wonderful Trastevere location, central but quiet. Paolo and Lucia were charming and welcoming. Breakfast supplies were better than expected, with much more than the traditional coffee, tea and pastries. I especially liked the added touch of the brand new Lavazza coffee maker. The beds and pillows were more comfortable than we encountered in some 3 and 4 star hotels. All in all, a great value!
