Bare minimum, but clean
My boyfriend and I needed somewhere to stay for the night for a Christmas holiday party. You're getting the bare minimum here- if all you need is a bed and a shower, this is fine. The room is outdated (i.e. the heater was a plug in, metal standing heater that is probably from the 80's), but it was clean. They provided an iron which came in handy as well. The hotel is located in walking distance from Little Italy so we easily walked to dinner and it is right next to the N/Q/R subway. I would stay here again only if it was significantly cheaper than other hotels and I needed to stay in the Soho area.

Over-priced budget property
As many small,off-brand hotels in NYC, this is a bare-bones, no frills, over-priced property located on a very loud intersection (bring/ buy ear plugs). No services, restaurant or gym but a 10x10 cell of a room with a plastic chair and two pillows that resemble two small bricks. When prices are artificially inflated due to supply and demand during the NY Holiday Shopping Season, places like the Soho Garden Hotel benefit greatly. Worst of all, the room thermostat was set and locked to 73 degrees but room felt like 68. With an outside temp in the low 30's the room heater was not strong enough to keep the small room and bathroom warm.

Poor1.0 / 5
this was the noisest hotel i ever stayed at in new york or anywhere. my room was on the 5th floor but must have been facing Broadway because the entire night was a cacaphony of sirens, trucks rumbling by, and endless horns blaring. i was up almost the entire night because of this. further, when i went to my room the temperature was 79 deg and there was not way to change it. i called the desk and the guy told me he would have to come up and change the temperature for the whole floor. i don't know if he did this or not but it was sweltering. finally the location is a bit deceiving, this is really in Chinatown on the edge of Soho, not in Soho, and there was not a 'garden' in cite. main attribute, very close to the subway at Canal street. this is it's only attribute.

Convenient and clean
The wifi was not great and the room was on the cool side (space heater provided). The thermostat did not allow the temperature to be changed. That being said, I would totally stay here again. The front desk was really great and the location was convenient. We just used it as a crash pad but it was comfortable enough to be a good go to. So close to Chinatown and Little Italy!
