Tremendous Local Village Pub
This is a true local country pub. Very friendly & welcoming. The food is absolutely tremendous, [try the large gammon steak, but you'll need to be very hungry to do it justice!] and they also keep the beer in tip top shape. The bar has a super fire place which is great. I think that the Old Black Bull is tremendous value & can thoroughly recommend it. I most certainly will be using it again for future visits to North Yorks

Comfortable, clean and friendly pub b&b
Very friendly owners and locals in the pub were extremely helpful in advising us on evening meal choices. We can highly recommend the pies and the lasagne was delicious. It was reasonably priced, home cooked. The open fire looked appealing; great for atmosphere and warmth on colder evenings. The bed was comfy on a good quality mattress with protectors on, same for the pillows which were all very clean and plentiful. We didn't have to go looking for anything as there were lots of teas, coffeed and hot chocolates on the hospitality tray with a full sized kettle. Similarly the code for the free WiFi was easy to find in the room and was a reasonably strong strength connection. Breakfast was delicious and good quality, plenty if it and a good choice of individual sized cereals, dried fruits and preserves. Overall it's a relatively small pub with a separate dining area, the room we had was spacious and comfortable and we slept very well. We parked on the road opposite the pub. The location is perfect if you prefer not to stay in the busy city centre and the distance from York is good enough to be accessible whilst also feeling seductively rural. Just be sure to know that this Inn is in Raskelf just 2 miles from Easingwold and not actually in Easingwold itself. It's a short drive to Thirsk which was such a lovely market town with many lovely shops and cafes, the riverside and a warm welcome. All in all we strongly recommend this hotel and stay here again without doubt.

Welcoming rest
Imade a late booking online and had anearly start. They were very freindly and made me a lovely packed breakfast/lunch when I told them I had to make an early start. The village doesn't have many amenities; but the pub seems to make upfor it by providing good value solid meals. I would definately stay there again.
