Second Stay In West Chiltington
A brief one night stay with two rooms booked. Initially we were assigned ground floor rooms. We preferred a second floor room and this change was made quickly and easily without fuss. It seems the hotel is under new management and there have been some teething problems although we did not experience any inconvenience as a result of this change. The evening menu choices were quite small, but the food was well prepared and we had no problems finding suitable menu items to eat. The rooms all appear to be quite different with a definite older style of décor and furniture. Breakfast was a great English breakfast with ample choices of cereals, toast and full breakfast items. The hotel is set in a largely upscale residential area and the hotel setting is nicely rural. This was our second stay in this hotel and we enjoyed the experience, once again.

poor value for money
I had to look around the hotel to find a staff member in order to check in. The room was small, dinner menu was basic and all in all,was way overpriced at £75 for one night. A lot of road noise in the morning and I could hear the water running from next doors room.

£105 for a single bed?!
Unfortunately, I was disappointed to be given a single beaded room despite paying the standard price and expecting a double bed. When I queried it on check out, I was informed that I could have specified that I wanted a double room. I was also informed that there are only two single bedrooms in the whole hotel. The man at reception even asked if my feet hung off the end when not I explained that it wasn't comfortable when I am tall and I was expecting a double bed. It was a real shame as it was a beautiful hotel in a great location for my friend's wedding, the full English breakfast the next morning was also very good.

Short break
Room was very noisy. Stayed in annex, road behind us, kitchen and a/c fans in front, store room to left! Walls are very thin and could hear everything from adjacent room although guest wasn't particularly noisy. Staff using storeroom early in morning. Stayed last year and had a great room so avoid the outside buildings.

Could be a good hotel but needs some improvements
It was quite hot at the time of our visit and our room had very little airflow even though we had a small fan so we had a very poor nights sleep. We chose to eat outside in the courtyard which looked very pleasant. We were very put off by the glass top tables everywhere being filthy! When I asked if ours could be cleaned, a very cursory effort was made. The food was not cooked well and I wouldn't chose to eat or stay at this hotel again. Whilst we were trying to eat our meal 2 other people were given their meal straight onto the filthy table and I could see their visible discomfort.
