A lovely B&B in Drymen
Jean was an exceptional hostess and the house was lovely. There were plenty of things to do and when rain changed our plans, Jean was helpful with providing lots of fun options with maps and handouts. Breakfast was awesome and the wifi was good. There were a few restaurants and a grocery within walking distance. The rooms were clean and good sized. The location is near the Buchanan estate and golf club and an easy drive to Stirling, Callander, and more. We really enjoyed staying here!

A family cottage in the Scottish country
What an amazing and magical place to stay. We were welcomed right away and the cottage was better than advertised. The grounds were beautiful and afforded more walk than we had time to enjoy. We had eggs, bacon, and sausage in the fridge along with milk and orange juice. Fresh bread was ready for pick-up next door at 0800 - a delightful and homey touch. The furniture was a little worn, but reflected the nature of the hunting cabin, so it was fine by us. The wifi was substandard, but worked ok in the common area (boat shed), but you won't be able to stream anything (which is fine - you should go for a walk!). The owners were so friendly we would not only recommend it, my whole family wants to come back to stay longer.

Really friendly welcome, helpful B&B owner giving info on the local pubs and recommendation to book ahead to eat. Had a long chat about potential walks the next day, really knowledgeable and welcoming.

Loved staying here
I stayed at the Hawthorns with my parents after attending a friend's wedding at the Buchanan Arms hotel which was only a few minutes walk away. Booking was simple and Chris was really helpful by email when I asked about arranging a taxi from Glasgow and adding more people to the booking. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the lovely BnB which included a comfy lounge with maps, some lovely local art, some books/games/dvds to borrow, and a breakfast room. We stayed in family room 5 and all loved it, especially the new looking tartan carpet! Room 5 had a huge bed, a separate room with two full size single beds and patio doors out to the garden (great for coming back quietly in the wee hours after the wedding), an entrance room with a sink to leave luggage/muddy boots, and a bathroom with a decent shower - more of a suite than a room! Breakfast was served between 8-9am. As other reviewers have said the sausage was really delicious and I thoroughly recommend the full Scottish fry up. The black pudding was cooked to perfection. If you don't fancy a cooked breakfast there are also options for yogurt, muesli and toast. I docked a star for location only because when my parents tried to find somewhere to eat in the evening everywhere was full, so they ended up with a sarnie from the village shop, which was luckily still open. We probably should have thought about that and booked in advance but hadn't thought it would be needed in such a small village.

We had a lovely weekend staying at the Hawthorns, The owners were very nice and accommodating. We were at a wedding in a nearby hotel so just really slept and had breakfast the next morning, which was fab. Would definitely stay here again.
