Can’t wait to stay again
I have to be honest I’m a hotel snob, when I walked into the room I frowned and sought this is not what I expected but after going out on the patio and seeing the view I kind of grew on me, I would stay there every time I visit Santa Cruz because it’s a great location, they have their own bar downstairs, everything is in walking distance to the boardwalk food bowling alley cocktails, the staff were super super friendly and helpful, Everyone there was just awesome including the bartender downstairs and the staff that checked me in and out. It was awesome

NOT worth for the price you pay!!
Great location- across the Boardwalk, close to many restaurants/pier/beach shops. View from hotel was beautiful and relaxing. Dog run within hotel which is convenient for dog owners. Room was run down and dirty (even to the sponge that was covered with food left previously). No soap available to wash dishes so we had to run down to a store to get some bc we did not trust using the plates, cups, and utensils there. The room smelled so bad that we had to spray it down with our cologne/perfume. Floor was not swept and dirty that we wore our shoes there the entire time- we did not bring slippers bc based on the pictures, we didn’t think we needed to. The bedroom did not look as pictured- bed smelled and sheets were dirty- we found lots of human hair (not pet hair) on the bedsheets. Oddly the only room that was decent was the bathroom (looked like that was updated) BUT there were mold all around the edges of the tub and shower curtains were slimy. This hotel is like a Motel 6 across the Boardwalk. For $350+ a night NOT worth it.

Too many homeless people
The hotel was old, the bathroom smelled of iron and the area is crawling with homeless people. Not an ideal choice.

King ocean view room review
We stood in a king ocean view room(it was the only room connected to the loby). It was what i expected, small and alittle dated. The views and locarion wer what brought us there, so it was jist what we wer looking 4. The only down side was the bathrooms had hair from the previous guests and stunk. Theydo not have private room balconies like the rooms with partial ocean views do.. About an hour after we checked in to out room, one of the maids let her self in! No knock or anything.. Kinda curiois what she was gonna do if we wernt in the room..

Good but except wouldn't recommend shared balcony
I stayed at this hotel and overall the experience was good but the room we stayed which was ocean view with a shared balcony was very loud. My boyfriend and I could not sleep because we could hear the people outside in the balcony till 3 am. That was my only complaint but other than that it was wonderful stay and I was able to walk to everything since it was near the hotel.
