Everything was great

Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya Jingumae Hot Spring, Tokyo
A good value but cold breakfast
Overall a good value for the money considering this is Tokyo, but breakfast was disappointing - food on the Western buffet was cold since there wasn't much turnover that morning. I waited until the chef put out the hot eggs but then he proceeded to mix them up with the cold eggs! We've stayed at another Dormy Inn so knew what to expect but the bed seemed a little less comfortable (harder?) and the communal bath area smaller and not as inviting. The location is an easy walk to the subway station and the staff is nice. Appreciated the laundry facilities.

Make 2nd floor non-smoking, keep smokers separate
I've been trying to figure out how to rate this Dormy Inn. First, the lobby and room is much nicer than I'd expected for the price point and its excellent location. If you have a JR pass, you'll be happy to note that a quick (around 5 min) walk will take you to the closest JR subway station. There is an even closer subway station run by a different line. There are plenty of shops and restaurants for different price points and interests within a short walk away. The hotel offers: (1) free tea and coffee throughout the day; (2) free loan of bikes for 2 hours; (3) access to the onsen (hot springs bath); (4) free use of laundry machines and detergent, the dryer is only around Y100 or $1/20 minutes; (5) there is a free shuttle in the morning that can take you to Shibuya or to Tokyo Station (check with the front desk and register so they can assign a slot); (5) the breakfast buffet is Y1,500 per person; (6) their staff are reasonably good at English and are very helpful. We really liked our hotel's location and will likely stay there again. Unfortunately, I have mild asthma and had requested a non-smoking double room. They assigned us a non-smoking room on a smoking floor. The first night, I ended up with an irritated throat and cough but was not sure if it was from the rainy and cold weather or the cigarette smoke. The second day, I had an asthma attack and difficulty breathing -- the staff were helpful in getting us moved to a non-smoking floor.

Great shower, bed, and breakfast
Room was small and cozy. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was really good: strong water pressure, consistent temperature. Very polite staff. Breakfast really surpassed my expectations and lasts until 10:30. Didn't get to try the sauna.
