A+ with character
It was amazing - a local hotel with style versus big western chain. Super friendly and helpful staff. Beds were amazingly comfortable...but that may have been relative to coming off hiking the Inca Trail...

Exceptional Stay in Cusco
Overall, our stay was fabulous. The staff was very attentive. The room conditions were extremely nice. The staff was exceptional at making sure we were comfortable. They even sent a taxi from the airport to pick us up! Very impressed with our stay here. The only issue is that the hotel is on a one way narrow street and some of our tours had a little difficulty picking us up in the morning.

Go back in time
Rumi Wasi means "Stone House" in Quechwa, the indigenous language around Cusco. This is a 17th century Spanish home that's been converted into a small boutique hotel not far from the center of Cusco. Very authentic and pristine throughout, with modern bathrooms and even in-wall heating, which is unusual in Cusco.

Sorry, but not again...
Very nice, helpful and service minded staff! The room looked very nice and welcoming with candles burning and information about the two water bottles; they were free. What was missing was that no bottle opener was provided, so you could not get to that water when you wanted me to..., also that these bottles were what they provided for the entire stay. The room was ice cold! Luckily there were two heating units, one you could set for up to four hours and the other one you had to figure out what to set it on so that you wouldn’t melt down during the night. Needless to say; the first night doesn’t provide much sleep. Location is in one way good, but if your knees are poor and you easy get short of breath, this is NOT the place for you. Old Cusco is the area to stay in but make sure of the location. This hotel is located in the upper part of one of these hills. Nor is there elevator in the hotel, you carry your bags up and down the stairs! At arrival they help you but that is it. At the same time, these young girls should not carry heavy suitcases in these stairs either! I will not stay here again, rooms are to cold, hard to adjust the heat in, too noisy with all these heaters going, the hotel is inconvenient with all its stair, the price is too high for what you get and it is to high up the hill. Breakfast is ok and they offer to serv it in the room. Thank you!! Thank goodness for the hot water bottle that was provided every evening at 8 pm!
