Charles Bridge Palace

The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. We paid a little extra for river view and felt it was worth it, marvellous panorama. The front desk staff was very polite and friendly and helped with a tour booking and airport transfer. The breakfast was abundant, varied and always fresh.

Our reservations included breakfast. When checking in we informed the receptionist that we will check out at 4:30 am the next morning and we asked if we could get a packed breakfast. She said it was too bad, that nothing can be done since the cook leaves at 2 pm and at the moment we checked in she was already gone. Check ins are at 3 pm. Room was small with no view. At the beginning TV set was not working. Big difference when 2 days early we used the same hotel for 1 day and every thing worked very good. Staff, especially Robert was very kind. Thanks for keeping our 2 bags the day that we left the city.

Overall I was happy with the quality of the hotel and at a reasonable price. It was quiet in the room, spacious, tidy and bright. Great to have elevator access, which other similar prices hotels did not. Improvements: The wood floor in the room felt sticky and there was a wine spill from a prior occupant that showed the floors are not routinely mopped. Booked a Junior suite which had two twin beds pushed together and two duvets for my wife and I which was a bit annoying. Breakfast choices were very good, but the food in the warming trays was not kept warm very well. I am not a fan of keeping the room keys with reception, I was not asked for ID when requesting my room key from any of the staff and think I could have gone to any room I would have liked.

I blame Hotels.com for not providing enough information. For instance, across the street is a bar and it got noisy. Our room was only on the 2nd floor directly across the street from the noisy bar! The hotel is big with 77 rooms, so the hotel can be fine with the right room placement. My profile with Hotels.com specifically asks for a high floor but I didn’t get this. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast is good, and the location is fantastic!! All kinds of cute places around and also right by the Charles bridge and a short walk to Old Town.

The property was decorated very well. It had a royal touch to the entire place. Location of the hotel is ideal to explore the Old town and everything was in walkable distance. Staff are supper friendly and the breakfast they serve is very grand.

The place was great and the location was perfect. The staff was not as friendly as you would expect. I’m hoping they were just having a bad day and I happen to walk at the wrong time.
