Rushop Hall, Buxton
Left hungry and NOT in Buxton! claims that this hotel is in Buxton; it is nowhere near anywhere! It is about half a mile away from Winnat's Pass in Castleton, so it is not possible to walk to any village, shop, restaurant or pub. However, it is ideal for walkers. The setting is very beautiful and the breakfast was good. A shame that we didn't know that you have to book dinner in advance. We had to get a taxi in to Castleton (£13 each way), which was an expense we hadn't counted on, as the website claims not only a restaurant, but a licensed bar as well. There is a cafe on site, which is open until 5pm, where you can also buy beer. Do not count on this for your dinner though!!

Cosy Cottage for Two
Super bijou cottage on two floors. Tiny kitchen with fridge and microwave but all you need for a few days away. We took advantage of the self catering facilities and ate in both evenings. The wood burning stove and quiet location of the cottage were it's two big assets. Beautiful breakfast served at the 'No Car Cafe'. We were recommended this cottage by our son and we weren't disappointed and are now recommending it to others!

Great quiet hotel in a beautiful location
Stayed one night bed and breakfast in the main hall. Quiet location, beautiful house, with an on-site cafe. Short drive from Castleton, offering great little shops, restaurants, pubs and caverns to visit. And the breakfast is fantastic.

Great location within the Peak District
Highly recommend Rushop Hall - the room was lovely and the location was brilliant for exploring the northern Peak District.

Very Good8.0
Good location and lots of positives, one bad room
Loads of things to recommend about this B&B from the location, to the breakfast. However there is a big problem with the Room called "Bridle" the roof slopes to such an extent that every time you go to the shower room/toilet or to the wardrobe you run the risk of hitting your head on some very nasty corners. Found myself walking with my head at an angle and I'm only 5ft 9. Raised it as an issue at breakfast but didn't even get an acknowledgement or apology.
