Worst experience
At check in we were told they were upgrading us to a junior suite. We went to our room and the upstairs loft had the bed. The ceiling was soo low and angled and made me feel so claustrophobic. Also no bathroom on the floor with the bed! We went down to ask to just have our original room the special room with king bed rainfall shower head. The clerk at the desk wasn’t sure what to do because she said she didn’t have that room. She said to go have a seat near the bar.The gentleman that brought us to the first rooom said would you like a drink while you wait . I was pretty shook up so I said yes. My husband and I had a gin and tonic. Martin the manager came a few minutes later and said the problem is the construction and it may be noisy in the morning after 8. I knew I could not handle the first room so we took the noisy one. Martin said for the mix up breakfast is on the house. The room was noisy at 7 am and it did not have a rain shower head in the shower. When we went to check out we were charged $34 dollars for the two drinks. We have been traveling Spain for 2 weeks and the average gin and tonic is about 8 dollars . Also we were charged for breakfast. I was so frustrated at this point I just payed the bill and left. We have stayed at 8 other hotels on our trip and Caro Hotel was our worst experience. As with your hotel we chose 4.5 to 5 star hotels expecting the quality we are paying for . This did not happen with your hotel.

I loved this hotel. It is a boutique with a lot of history. Super well located, two blocks from La virgen square and three from La Reina.

Modern minimalist.
Some might consider the decor, "modern minimalist"... concrete floors, sparse furnishings, dark paint. It's new and clean, but not my preference. Also hard to find due to location on small side street in historic district.

Highly recommended
Excellent service! Loved the pastries we got most days, appreciated the free mini bar and tea menu, and the turn down candies were clever and tasty. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Products were bulgar. Location was short walk to everything, but a quiet street for sleeping. Loved the hotel. Would stay there again and have already recommended it.

We enjoyed our stay at the Caro - the location is great and the staff were quite helpful. The bathroom, which had both a nice shower and a separate tub, was great although some hooks to hang towels or clothes and a night light are needed. The room was a bit small but that was understandable given the building. The breakfast was an add-on but worth it - a nice buffet spread plus made-to-order options.
