A Quiet Retreat After Touring the City All Day
Overall, I'm pleased with this little gem. It's on a beautiful, quiet street and provided the quiet retreat needed after touring the city during the day. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I very much enjoyed the neighborhood and the folks, the little shops, and plenty of places to buy a quick bite to eat.

Happy hideaway
A great little off the beaten track place to stay. The room was nice and cozy and the surrounding were peaceful. No particular view from the room we were in but it did have a private patio that more than made up for it. This is going to be my new getaway. Can't wait to go back.

Unique and wonderful but not your typical hotel
This hotel is wonderful but also very unique and deserves some explanation. It is basically an efficiency apartment in a nice residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. It has its quirkiness, for example the front office is a dental clinic on the first story. The subway and tons of restaurants are within short walking distance. Staying at the missing lantern makes you feel like you live in Brooklyn. The proprietors have a very hands off approach but will help you if you ask. I recommend this hotel highly but you have to know what you're getting into.

Lives up to mysterious name...
Interestingly nice place. Trying to reach a live person was a task and left me with a taste of indifference. Getting in was a series of codes provided by the management to guide you to your room. Overall, the room was nice but dated. I also ripped my sock on a hangnail in the floor the day we checked out. When we finally did meet someone upon checkout (at the dentist's office across the street), they were very friendly. The experience left us scratching our heads wondering why so little customer interaction? Definitely lives up to the mysterious name.
