Hotel was walking distance to downtown and beach. Area is without doubt top notch. Something for everyone.

Great location, great staff.
Great place for a weekend trip to Santa Barbara. Great location, great staff. You can walk to abd from the Amtrak station with your bags. Hard to beat that.

A little different than most hotels, but great!!
Great customer service! I got a room that didn't have blinds on the bathroom window and they happily moved me to another room and gave me a $10 credit. I was also pleasantly surprised when I checked in that they offered a smart water and granola bar when I checked in since I took the train. I had a couple encounters with the staff and they were beyond helpful and kind. The room was smaller than I expected, but it was clean and nice. The only downfall was the bed seemed cheap, maybe from Ikea, and it wasn't very comfortable. I'm used to hotel rooms having a bathtub and this had an odd shower and water leaked on to my bathroom floor. The trains didn't bother me, but I heard a couple other people complain about the noise so ask for a room on the other side of the train tracks if that is an issue. Cool indoor and outdoor sitting areas. They were in between art exhibits when I was there, but apparently they usually have art from a local artist on the walls. Great location on State street, close to the beach and right across from the Funk Zone. It is directly next to the train station, which was very handy to be able to walk next door to my hotel. Overall, great stay! Just a few things to keep in mind that are a little different than past hotel stays.

NOT Recommended!!! Save Your Money.
Super disappointed with everything about my stay. And sadly would never recommend. - Valet parking was ridiculously expensive (30$ per night!!!!) and as a single female I had to park on the street and walk to hotel / many homeless people, was approached! - Staff was not particularly friendly - Construction noise started at very early morning hours and had no pre-mention on your site - Cancellation policy was outdated even though I booked in advance (they blamed my third party booking hotels.com) - Rooms are uncomfortably small - Bathroom doors are so hip that they don't even close the entire way, so forget anyyyy privacy - Common library area messy (for hotel price) - Was not granted courtesy of late checkout (even an hour) because I was not a member - Contacted the manager post trip and got a very generic and unapologetic response that did nothing to try to keep me as a future customer OR recommend the hotel in any way Overall, unhappy with the experience.
