Right in old town, bring ear plugs
Location is great, almost a little too good! Was hard to sleep a few nights because of partying outside, a piano bar, Church bells, etc. I was there during the one hot week so I couldn't sleep with Windows open( too loud) or window closed ( too hot). Luckily the first night I asked for a fan and they gave me a good one had I used the whole week. Room was very small but bathroom was fine and nice flat screen tv and mini fridge was helpful. Location is great for food, very close to really good restaurants.

The only problem is that it is very noisy at night if you have a room in the front of the hotel. Otherwise it was very convenient and pleasant place to stay right in the heart of all the action.

Wonderful hotel!
Staff was very helpful. The location is perfect for visiting Old Town and most of the historical sights of Gdansk, within a few hundred feet of walking distance. Nearly everything is readily accessible, including taxicabs and public transportation. Breakfast was fantastic, and well worth the money. We plan to stay here again!

Ambiance!!!
The room was very clean and compact but was everything we needed. The church bells were beautiful to wake up to. The restaurant downstairs was delicious Mon Balzac! It would have been nice to have a little more provided in the room such as shampoo conditioner and lotion but there was at least soap! Location is perfect you are right in the heart of old town and just need to step outside to be in the thick of it all!!

Uncomfortable room in an otherwise pleasant hotel
We booked 2 nights at Artus at the end of a 2-week trip across Poland. It the only hotel we stayed in, so we were looking forward to a comfortable and relaxing stay in Gdansk. Unfortunately, the room was quite uncomfortable to stay in. There was no air-con, which meant it was unpleasantly hot across the 2 summer nights we stayed there. Opening the windows unfortunately exposed us to the noise of the busy town centre outside so we were a bit stuck between getting no sleep due to the noise or getting no sleep due to the heat. Of course the hotel cannot control either of these factors but it was disappointing to have no temperature control inside the room. The room was clean and nicely decorated, but a little small. As a result, the double bed was placed in a really inconvenient position. It was against one corner of the room, meaning one of us had to clamber over the other to get in or out of bed. Not really very convenient. The mattress was also extremely soft, in fact too soft for my partner, who was unable to sleep well at all. The rest of the hotel service was good. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the breakfast bar was fine. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, as it is close to the river and a lot of the main tourist attractions. Unfortunately the room was just too uncomfortable for us and it had a really negative effect on the last few days of our holiday.
