What an incredible property! This place is seriously beautiful. Restaurant/cafe on site, free transfer to and from the airport, short walk to the beach, what more could you ask for?

I was at this resort on 12/31 and 1/7 and 1/8. I had good experiences. Most of the staff spoke English well enough to communicate; those that spoke little English still did a good job of communicating. My flight was supposed to arrive at 11pm, but was over 2 hours late. I had emailed the resort my flight numbers ahead of time. I was very surprised to see them at the airport holding a sign with my name. In a previous email, they also gave me phone #s to call if no one was waiting for me. Honestly, this resort is within easy/safe walking distance to/from the airport...about 15 minutes walk. You can see the walking route by using Google maps, including street view. For each of my stays, my room was clean, modern, and quiet. Everything worked. There is a small frig in each room with 2 bottles of water. My only complaint is that on Travelocity, it says check-in time is anytime. But that's not true. Check-in time is 2pm and it was displayed at the resort. If you want to check-in earlier, then it costs 500 Baht ($17 USD). They actually knocked on my door during late morning, reminding me about the free breakfast. And much to my surprise, they had boxed-up the breakfast and offered it to me later. Based on another review, I ate at the Nai Yang Cafe, which is a short walk down the road...maybe 10 minutes away. The food there was very good and very reasonably priced. I would stay at this resort again.

I booked Perennial Hotel for my sister based on its proximity to the airport and positive reviews. She stayed April 22-23, 2019. The lady at the reception desk of the hotel and a man who also worked there that day did not allow us to visit my sister in her room. They asked for an extra $1000 BHT ($31 USD), to visit her in the room for an “extra" person charge even though we are not staying overnight and would only be visiting 2-3 hours since our outgoing flight is later that evening. They said visitors are only allowed in the hotel lobby. We can't even go inside my sister’s room to use the restroom without incurring an "extra" person charge. Because it was too hot to walk to the airport, I inquired about the cost of shuttle service from the hotel to the airport. They said it would cost $300 BHT per person, so for a family of four that would cost $1200 BHT ($37 USD). The airport is ONLY 2-3 blocks away! If this isn’t price gouging, I don’t know what is. We decided to walk to the airport and it took less than 10 minutes to get there. I have traveled to numerous countries and have never experienced any hotel establishment that has such a strict policy. I don't usually write negative reviews but it is essential that foreigners are aware of this hotel's policy and avoid doing business with a hotel that lacks basic human decency and tries to squeeze every penny from foreigners.
