Medina experience
This is not your typical European or American experience. Fantastic support from hotel staff made all the difference to make our trip to the Fes Medina unforgettable and safe.

A nice little riad
Very comfortable 3 night stay with friendly, helpful staff in a good location very close to the Blue Gate. Big, spacious room and a tasty breakfast. Good value for money. A map of the city would have been helpful! Note that airport transfers cost 15euro, not 30, as the first email I received claimed.

Excellent value!!!
This riad was wonderful!! The staff is lovely and the rooms and sizeable. Really enjoyed our four day stay. As others have mentioned, the location is very easy and it's beautiful. The rooms are just a bit aged. Of course, all riads are "aged" but these rooms show it a little. Not in any way that made it not worth the stay though!

Locked out, dirty and surly staff
Great location just inside the Medina but the room was stuffy, the bathroom was poorly lit, old and dirty. Sheets were yellowed and crumpled. Breakfast was ordinary and staff surly. Found staff sleeping in stairwells and the main lobby in the morning and evening. Worst of all, we went for a late evening walk to buy water as the minibar fridge was empty, returning at 10.40 to find we'd been locked out by the night porter who had gone to a family wedding. He was eventually tracked down by staff from another hotel and returned at 1am, drunk and annoyed with us for cutting his celebrations short. He thought it was acceptable to lock guests in, unattended whilst he went out instead of doing his job. He blamed us for going out even though we'd been told the desk was manned 24/7. We changed hotels the next day. We were not offered a refund or a genuine apology and we were too tired and upset to argue.
