Hotel Indigo Newcastle, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
The hotel is in a convenient location. It is a short walk from the Newcastle Train Station. There are restaurants and bars nearby and in the hotel. The room was quite cramped. The arm chair was literally pushed right up to the side of the bed. We paid extra for a room with a balcony but that was not enjoyable as there was a row of balconies with no screening of any kind between them, The man next door was out on his balcony in his underwear. I realize that the hotel couldn't control what he did but it does point out that a screen of some kind might be nice. We were there during the weekend and it was pretty noisy--there is a concert venue nearby. Seemed like some of the guests had been there and were very noisy as they came to their rooms early in the morning.

Modern hotel in Great central location
Modern uber 'funky hotel. Real shame that the 'double room' is actually 2 single beds put together, invest in some toppers as not comfy, and thin manmade pillows.... big spacious room though with nice touch of complimentary water & 2 cans of fizzy drinks and 1 packet of crisps (you've got to share!). Great welcome at reception, the bar staff and waitresses could be a bit more on it and friendly. Be mindful of roundly hen parties!! We ate there too... chateaubriand was yummy but £3.50 for a miniature sauce and the quoted side of watercress was a leaf each! Felt a bit steep, watercress doesn't cost much & at £60 for the steak include the sauce... triple cooked chips were amazing! So new and funky, could do with some tweaks and a great central location.

All fine except for the noise: air-con / water system from other rooms make a bit of noise - one gets used to it but the room doors bang hard when they close! Not a nice way to wake up as people go for early breakfast. Breakfast is good.
