Inexpensive, small room not far from cathedral
This was a great place to stay for a weekend in Lincoln. It's at the top of the hill so you're close to the cathedral and other tourist draws. The place itself was quite simple, but clean and comfortable. We stayed in a superior double room, which was still quite small. So I'm not sure how comfortable the economy room would be. It includes a full English breakfast in the campus cafe, which was nice. Key card access to the front door so you feel free to come and go. We would stay here again.

All things considered we'd stay again for sure.
Having read previous reviews regards tiny room size we were pleasantly surprised with our Standard room - being plenty big enough. It was super clean too and the bed really comfortable, we had a great night's sleep with no noticeable noises. Allocated parking for the hotel was small, but there was the massive campus car park a hundred yards away that could also be used. The location was a bit out of town - 15 minute walk to the start of the city proper (shops!) but that's not a big deal. Lincoln itself is a super place, with a great variety of shops, bars and places to eat.

Good room, but poor service and mis advertised.
I booked this room so I could attend the last day of the Steampunk weekend. Very disappointingly, they advertised luggage storage and despite being confirmed at Check in,on the day it was needed several of us were turned away.I've emailed Longdales and have received no response. The room was fine, the photos made it look more luxurious than it actually was, but the price is about right. The bed was very comfy. There was a bit of noise first thing as the B and B is beside a main road with traffic coming on to the campus. The location it is perfect for the culture quarter which is within walking distance (10-15 minutes), but the area was a bit on the quiet side (bearing in mind it was out of term -time) and public transport was minimal, so make sure you get a taxi number. I didn't realise breakfast would be across the road in the refectory until I arrived. Luckily the weather was okay and on a plus side it was a full breakfast rather than the continental one advertised (not sure if this changes in term time). The food was lovely, but service was poor. Tables were piled up with finished trays and the cereals bar wasn't stocked up, so didn't realise that was an option until too late. The serving area was also really cramped and self-service parts and things like cutlery really need to be more accessible. I would stay there again, but I might look around first.

Nice place, good value.
We stayed over for a nearby wedding and this place was very close to the church and within walking distance of the reception. Even though we arrived much earlier that planned, the porter gave us the key card to get into the room which was appreciated. Room and bathroom were neat and clean, though quite small. Good breakfast in the refectory the following morning. There was a nice lounge and kitchenette on the ground floor which is useful if you have drinks to keep cool etc.

Shirt stay, free parking.
Excellent price for hotel within walking distance of Lincoln with free parking -even after check out. Only a short 10-15 min walk to cathedral and castle area. Breakfast starts from 07.30 and very good using local, produce and refectory cafe was very clean and modern. Vegetarian options also available.
