Hôtel Tivoli, Huningue
Convenient and Friendly Hotel
I arrived just at the tail end of their annual August shutdown. The sign explaining that they were going to reopen that day was in French (unsurprising given that the hotel is in France). It didn't give the time that they'd return but the check-in time was given as 4:00 PM and when we returned after 4:00 PM they were ready. It's a small hotel and the front desk is not staffed 24 hours/day. But the desk clerk was very helpful with everything we needed. The parking is a bit cramped by American standards but we had no problems getting in and out. You can conveniently walk across a pedestrian bridge to shopping in Germany, where you can catch a tram to Basel, Switzerland.

Hôtel Tivoli, Huningue
The room was very clean and comfortable. there were three of us, so there were three single beds and still the room did not feel cramped. Our only complaint is that the hotel is in a. suburb and there is not much activity going on around the hotel. However, it suited our purposes because it was inexpensive and we spent less than 24 hours in Basel before moving on to Lausanne.

Great little hotel in great location
Great small homely hotel in quiet residential location. Clean very comfortable. Good restaurant. Brilliant location Yards from river Rhine and riverside walk. Town centre nearby. New pedestrian Bridge across river into Germany. Easy access to historic bustling city of Basel in Switzerland. Easy to get to trains to Strasbourg and Freiburg. EuroAirport close by too.

Great food but not friendly to Americans
The hotel was good for the price and area close to my appointment. However, the Aircon wasn't working and the man that I assume owns the place was not friendly. The restaurant food was very good but again the same man doesn't seem to like Americans. He waited on everyone else being nice and friendly but when it came to us he was short and rude. What ever bad experience he has had with Americans, he seems to take it out on all of us. It is a shame because I would rather pay more money to stay somewhere else next time and feel welcomed than to feel I am burdening the person I am paying for a service.
