hotel is by pompeii station , not pompeii scavi
We gave 5 for surrounding cause there's a mcdonald next block because we cannot handle anymore pizza & pasta. Entrance to pompeii is like 3 blocks away. Postal, bank and Train station are behind the near by square. Location is 3 because we didn't know about the closer station"Pompeii" and got off at "pompeii scavi" which orginally had to walk about 25 min to reach hotel. hotel is easily missed even tho its right on the main road. We walked passed it and later kept on asking direction to lead us back...and people don't speak English. hotel owners are nice, rooms are roomy. Breakfast are good, croissan, pastry, yogurt but no savory food. There is a carrefour supermarket between ppmpeii scavi station and hotel which is a bit of walk.

Nice hotel in quiet side of Sorrento
This hotel is located in a very quiet side of Sorrento, which can be very busy during the summer! It's near the water and has one of the best breakfasts I've had in Europe, both in terms of the food/service and in terms of the view - you have a spectacular view of the water, cliffs, and Mt Vesuvius in the distance. We really enjoyed those meals! The hotel really focuses on their service, this is a place to go to if you want to treat yourself to a nice relaxing time and spend time in the hotel and at the pool and such, if you are using it as a place just to sleep then it may not be the best use of resources. However we would definitely stay there again if we found ourselves in Sorrento.

A Highly Recommended Hotel
After a long and tiring train trip, the welcome from the owners was welcome and refreshing. The hotel room that we had was oversize and decorated with simulated Roman tiles. The room was clean and well presented. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the high street and made a good view during the evening. This hotel is 50 metres from the Pompei ruins and tours to Vesuvius and makes a good base to explore the region from. It is about 300 to 500 metres from the railway stations. There are numerous restaurants close by. A highly recommended hotel.

Pleasant family hotel to explore the region
We chose this hotel to explore the region, Pompeii being between the attractions of the Amalfi coast and Naples, as well as being very well located for the archaeological sites we wanted to visit. The town has good rail links - two stations for the Circumvesuviana local rail line plus a third for the main line - and we easily got around using a combination of trains and buses. The town is also on an Autostrada, although we didn't use it. The town is really on the edge of the regional sprawl of Naples and has a good selection of restaurants to suit most pockets. There is an impressive 19th century Catholic Church (a Cathedral?) and a pleasant few streets around a central square. The hotel is pretty central and very close to the Pompeii ruins. Its owners are extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are pleasant and well cleaned and serviced. There is no bar or inside lounge, but on warm days there is an outside enclosed sitting area where we spent many evenings playing family games. Breakfast was croissants, toast, cake and coffee in a sunny room at the top of the hotel. Our only issue was the noise from the 4.30am refuse collection, but that is hardly the fault of the hotel! Overall, a good experience and reasonable value for money.
