nice little hotel for short stay
Stayed here for two nights at the end of a long trip. Hotel is clean and decently maintained, just in an old building. This part of the city is quite noisy, but with the excellent windows closed the noise was dampened well. Room and full bathroom was spacious and comfortable. Would have been nice if there was a wall mount for the hand held shower head. The owner was always there, was very kind and helpful, and let us use his personal parking space. Like everyone in the hospitality industry I interacted with in France he spoke English well. This is a good location for seeing sights in Marseilles, whether on foot, via metro, or by car (but driving in Marseilles is a bit crazy). Lots of restaurants nearby and a big market just outside nearly every day. It's about a half hour drive to the airport once it's time to say goodbye.

A 15-20 minute walk from Centre Ville. Immediate surroundings include a market and several cafés and restaurants, but the wall from the hotel's area to the Centre Ville is less interesting. The room was large and simple, very clean. The bathroom was gigantic with bathtub. The service was very kind and helpful. Felt like a good value.

Very French, basic, friendly.
This place was great for the price. We had a cozy quiet room, where the bathroom was clearly an afterthought (a semi-walled off section in the corner). Two extra single beds useful for dumping all our stuff, a small table, a fridge, wi-fi. Good breakfast of croissants and baguettes, while French music videos played on the TV. Friendly, helpful staff. The "parking" they advertise is not really hotel parking -- you have to find something on the street and pay for it. But we did -- not too difficult. A comfortable walking distance to the Vieux Port. Hard to find restaurants open late, but that may be true of Marseille in general.

Basic inexpensive accommodation -
Basic room with no frills. Eg no bedside tables, hairdryer etc though small wooden table with two chairs and fridge means this would be a good self catering venue. Bed comfortable with good fresh bedding. Towels adequate. Bedroom ok size wise and ensuite spacious. Interesting shower screen arrangements around bath but they worked. Overall clean but tile floor slightly 'tacky' - kept shoes on more than usual! Hotel entrance a little bit shabby and not easy to see but easy walking distance to metro (line 1 to St Charles station) good selection restaurants nearby. Neighbourhood seemed fine. Staff very friendly and helpful.
