Hotel is very tired looking and the bathroom and shower really show this. The food was nice at the restaurant however parking is also a problem with very tight car parking spaces. Needs a total revamp!

Bell Hotel
If you just need a room for the night then price was good especially as full breakfast included. However, if staying for longer, then everything was a bit tired and the whole place could do with refurbishment.

Functional over luxurious
The Bell Hotel is probably not somewhere you should be thinking of staying for a romantic weekend, but if you just need a place to crash for the night, with a bar, it's perfectly adequate. The bedroom had all the facilities you would expect from a room in this price range, but the bathroom would benefit from a little love. The floor tiles all had something stuck to them, which made the room appear unclean (it actually wasn't) and scruffy. Our plans meant we needed to leave before breakfast, so can't comment on that.

avoid or stay if you like roughing it.
Probably as bad as it gets. Room radiator didn't work, bathroom radiator rusty and leaking, bathroom light didn't work, just flashed. Shower trickled with just warm water after running cold for 10 minutes. Wallpaper pealing and overall very shabby. Free WiFi didn't work. Full English was OK and "highlight" of the stay!

Very poorly kept hotel
Very poorly kept hotel. Room was disgusting with dusty and stained carpet, broken toilet roll holder, broken towel rail, window with condensation running down it when we entered the room, mould growing on the rotten window frames, disgusting smell from the wardrobe, drawers with stains in them and on the outside of the unit, toilet paper poked in to a hole in the wall coving of the bathroom to presumably prevent someone looking in, dirty bath, mould growing on the uneven grouting and in the areas where grouting had fallen off, dirty bathroom floor, and the list goes on. For the £60 price I didn’t expect the latest furniture or a 70 inch plasma TV but I did expect a clean, well maintained room. While the breakfast was tasty and well presented it was a little on the small size. Good points were the welcome from the receptionist and the breakfast waitress.
