Nice and cheap but with horrible Internet
Nice place with good price. The only issue was the internet that was horrible everywhere. But if you do not need to work remotely or maybe has no need in contact the family via internet, the hotel is good.

Mold, noise, no WiFi
Room overall was clean, but bathroom had mold everywhere. (I am allergic to mold, so this was an issue for me.) It specifically states "soundproofed rooms" on hotels.com, however, we could hear every time someone opened a door or talked in the hallway. We had to keep opening the window because it gets very musty in the room. We did not have cell phone service and relied on WiFi to look up directions to places we wanted to visit, and to keep up with bills, emails and schoolwork from back home. The hotel's WiFi did not work for 2 of the 4 days that we were there, and was very spotty and slow the other 2. My husband had to purchase WiFi from a nearby phone/internet company called Orange, but their WiFi was not much better. Front desk and cleaning staff was very friendly, but overall I would not stay here again.

Pay the extra for an upgrade
The staff are not welcoming or helpful. The room is a matchbox and very, very small. Wifi did not work for the most part and it was hard to plan your trip on the computer or cell because of this. You had to get a code that only lasted for 24 hours and a code for each device. It was such a pain. Do not recommend at all.

Good place to crash after a day of sight-seeing!
This hotel was a great place to crash after a day of touring Paris. There is no AC, but during our stay in mid-July it was bearable. (Though if you like it cold, this is not the place for you!) The hotel has a lot of character (I found it romantic and thought it fit the ideal image of Paris) and the neighborhood was a good location. There is a metro stop across the street (literally, two buildings down), and it only takes 10 minutes to get pretty much anywhere. We felt very safe in our neighborhood (I would have no problem bringing kids here), it was clean and well-lit. There's a yummy restaurant next door (and they do take-away if you just want to eat in your room), and two grocery stores on the block (a whole foods and an express), both of which were nice and had salads/snacks/quick meals. The rooms were kinda small, but we weren't in Paris to hang in our room so it was okay. We stayed in a four-person room and had just enough space to put our belongings. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I'd stay here again if I came to Paris again (but maybe not in July). :)

Just Alright
Overall the stay just "alright". The walls were very thin and we heard people up and down the halls constantly (especially in the morning). The WiFi on the second floor was bad, so we could not really utilize that service. The bed was extremely uncomfortable; like laying on a pallet with a blanket over it. On the plus side: the reception staff was very friendly, the lobby was always well-kept, the lift/elevator was nice, the shower got nice and warm, and the in-room heater helped with doing laundry. We never took advantage of the breakfast (for an additional fee).
