The Place to Stay in Forest Row
Stayed here for a week. There is a lot of positive to say and virtually nothing negative. I was on the bottom floor in a room with a double bed. Good size room; has a desk with plugs within arms reach to power devices. There is a set of plugs near the bed, if needed. Bathroom is good size and the shower hot water flows fairly quickly, where the faucet seems a tad bit slower. Even in December, I did not need to have the radiator on and the room stayed at a comfortable temp for me. However, if you need it, there is an extra blanket in the closet. All of the staff here are quite friendly and accommodating. Free wi-fi with a strong signal, free breakfast and free parking around back. The breakfasts offered range from cereals to omelettes to a good ole traditional Full English Breakfast, which I had all but one day. It was filling and quite tasty! There is a restaurant and bar for the evenings. I highly recommend the centre cut fillet steak served with pepper sauce, chips (steak fries) (or onion rings), tomatoes, portobello mushroom and a few other veggies. The steak is 8 oz and was cooked to perfection for me - just slightly pink inside. The chips were great - a bit crispy outside and soft inside. Mushroom and tomatoes equally good. Oh, and the Layered Chocolate Cake with strawberries and raspberries is extra yummy! Also offered and delicious are the sorbets. One night I did two scoops — one raspberry and the other black currant. For the money spent, this is worth 5 stars.

Nice Hotel
stopped for a one-night business stop. Nice hotel with good sized rooms which are very clean, a little cold in the bar and the restaurants could do with staying open later than 8pm.

Good but could be better with a bit of attention
The rooms are pleasant and comfortable with good facilities eg good shower plus iron/ironing board. The Wifi works well. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. Our evening meal and breakfast were excellent although it wouldn't be good for anyone in a hurry. The quality of the produce and the cooking would lead me to return to the restaurant if I lived nearer. We had a problem finding anyone to check us in and out which needs sorting and the staff at breakfast were not very helpful, we were not offered juice or toast or told where the table was for cereal etc ( we saw it round a corner on our way out!)

Weekend break
The hotel was rather tired. There was a bunch of dead tulips on the reception desk to welcome guests. The decor in the room was very dated and the bathroom was in need of a makeover. Some of the carpets were threadbare, although not in the bedroom. However, the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was good. The hotel is well located for exploring the area.
