Not worth the price
Clandestino's staff is awesome (that's all). The hotel is not very nice and lacks the nature that most other hotels have in the area. The food is pretty bad and overpriced. The pool is small. The beach is really since it is a virgin beach with not many tourists.

Nice beach
Not an easy hotel to get to, but it's nice and private once you make it down the long dirt road. The beach is lovely, but the pool was way too warm and did not feel clean. Our room faced onto a small garden and rock road and odd fire hydrant thing. When we asked if there was another room, the reply we received: "Well, the other rooms are more expensive." That's it. No offer to look at other rooms or to possibly upgrade. We could hear the neighbors next door to us. There was very little water pressure in the bathroom and the rocks in the very odd shower actually hurt your feet to stand on.

Beautiful, Secluded Hotel on the Beach
This is on the beach. The views of the beach, are so wonderful and the beach was very private. Nice pool, too. All the rooms are separated by lots of rainforest plant life, though they are very close to one another. Only 12 rooms. We fed wild monkeys bananas from our hands upon check-in, and again before leaving. The restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food could have been a little better, but it wasn't awful and they did have a good selection of varied foods.

A lovely get-away
This is a delightful hotel on a pristine beach. It is fairly remote and designed for guests to remain at the hotel for great rest and relaxation. The individual bungalows have a protected porch with hammocks and comfy furniture. The pool is turtle-shaped and very large and nice. The beach is only a few feet away. The best asset is the delicious food available at the restaurant. A lovely, quiet get-away.

Very isolated, Not a great "resort"
The room was pretty, secluded under trees with a nice porch, but they bed was very uncomfortable- reminded me of sleeping on a lumpy, hard trampoline. The water to shower was freezing every time. The location of this hotel was really inconvenient- something I did not realize when booking. It is about 45-60 minutes from anything other than the beach. If seclusion is what you want, then this would be a great place, but there is only one other restaurant nearby. For the included breakfast- They had a good selection of pastries and toast and cereal and then you could pick a breakfast platE. My husband got the traditional Costa Rican breakfast and I had the "omelet". Both of our breakfasts were cold- like almost refrigerator cold. My omelet had almost nothing in it. We just had toast/pastries the second morning. I will say, one night, we ordered some nachos and they were great- very filling and very well made. The cost seems very overpriced for food and drinks, but I sort of expected that for a resort. I'm sure other people can have a great experience here- ours just didn't meet up to our standards for what a "resort" should be. That being said, the beach was pretty, clean and pretty devoid of people other than the few at Clandestino, so it made for a relaxing beach day for us the one day we just hung around the resort.
