Hello, the overall experience far exceeded my expectations in everyway. Location, quality of location, hotel cleanliness, staff, Richard runs a good ship, if you have been to Jack Warner little humor. I hate to give up a good secret especially during home game weekends. The grounds were exceptional, overall experience HOME RUN!!! Sean

This historic property has the look and feel of a B&B with nostalgic sitting areas full of books, pictures, overstuffed chairs, and warm wood paneling. We enjoyed stepping back in time to cozier hotelier days. Along with the beautiful grounds, and large back deck, we found the whole experience most calming and relaxing.

2/10 Poor

Don’t be fooled by the pictures. There is no pool on the property. No restaurants on the property. The deck is blocked off with caution tape because it’s dilapidated. The carpets are old, worn out, discolored, and dated. As are the rooms. When we checked in at 4:00 pm, a dig next door would not stop barking and the toilet wouldn’t flush in our room. I called the front desk. She explained to me that it was a pet friendly hotel and if I didn’t like it, I could check out. We get back to the hotel post game, at 1:00 am. Our deadbolt key would not unlock the door. After an hour and a half, the maintenance man climbed through the ceiling to unlock the door. We were offered another room, but our luggage was in that room. After unlocking the door, the desk attendant said for us to gather i things and she would move us so we wouldn’t be locked out again. So we get everything onto the cart, get to the front desk. The maintenance man said they didn’t have any other rooms and there was nothing wrong with the room we had. I asked what happens when we can’t get in again. He said, it’s 2:30 am, where you need to go. I paid $215 per night for this hotel. You don’t get to ban me to my room! We were not even in that room a total of 10 minutes. He offered no solution but to “check you out of the hotel”. So at 3:00 in the morning we were basically put out. There was no other vacanciesbecause it was game day in Tuscaloosa. So I was forced to drive 3 hours home. I’d only recommend to a dog!

This place was interesting. It’s nestled back in an area of upscale places, such as a country club is right down the road. The entrance is very pretty when you walk in and you will get a physical key for your room. Now here’s where it’s interesting. The room furnishings are dated. There are thick shutters painted 2 dark colors on the window and the same paint on the closet. The carpet was dark and drab. Also the brown comforters didn’t do the room any favors. To make this place all that it should be and bring it to life, the comforters, shutters, and carpet would need updating with lighter/clean colors such as white. The bed we slept in also needed a new mattress. It was concave on both sides from lots of use. Now onto the best part of this place. The breakfast and the walking trails behind it. The breakfast had real eggs, biscuits with sausage gravy, bacon, assorted yogurt with granola, fresh fruit topping, and bagels with cream cheese. Unfortunately as soon as we got there at 9:15, it had ran out of everything so I got the last biscuit they had. The woman running the breakfast was super sweet and trying her best but it was a lot for one person. Idk if she also had to cook everything. It seemed that way because she was gone a long time to get bacon and more of everything. We waited a while and had a piece of toast but had to leave bc it took too long. Overall, because of the dated dark room I’d give it 3 stars.
