BEWARE DEBIT/ CREDIT CARD USERS ...
BEWARE DEBIT/ CREDIT CARD USERS: THE WHITTEN INN RECORDS YOUR CARD # & SECURITY CODE. I booked a room for Tue 3 - Thu 5 April 2018. When I checked in at the front the desk the attendant asked me for my ID and debit card (normal procedure). After she made a copy of my cards she flipped my debit card over and asked what the security code is because its faded out a little bit; she then looked closer at the card and wrote the security code down. I asked her why does she need the security code; and she said that it was for incidentals. I advised the attendant that I travel per business and book hotels almost every day of the week and I have never been to an establishment that recorded my security code. She then told me that it's their normal procedure in case something is broken and needs to be paid for. Since my stay at the Whitten; I've checked into a few other hotels in TX; and I've asked the attendants if they record the security code of their customers; and they have all advised "NO", recordation of the security code is not policy and that I should be concerned of such sketchy actions. I am now making my bank aware and cancelling my debit card; as well as paying close attention to my account for any suspicious activity. I normally don't leave reviews but I've been feeling very vulnerable ever since this particular hotel has copied my debit card # as well as the security code on a piece of paper in their file cabinet.... which is a TERRIBLE POLICY!!

Quick stop on road trip
Price was reasonable. Staff was OUTSTANDING. Building is older and there are drafts coming through window and direction. Easy access fm interstate and perfect for stop during a road trip. Abundance of parking. It is a common place for truckers and construction workers.
