Nice find in Palermo
A little difficult to find but worth it. There's a lot to park your car, the room was big and clean, and the staff were very friendly. Finding a decent meal is a challenge in the area, but you're within walking distance of everything you'll want to see.

Decent hotel, but...
First and foremost, the hotel is in a shady, shifty area. I don't know what it was but there are a lot of people lingering, not doing anything and they look suspicious (to us at least). While no one ever bothered us and we did feel safe, it was still weird that the same odd characters were always lurking in the shadows. Honestly that is the best way I can describe. The room we had was a Superior. There was a couch that was old, stained and flat, no fluff at all, very uncomfortable. The bed was a good size, but it was so flat and hard. The sheets also were rock solid. They felt like paper, hard and crinkled if that makes sense. The bathroom was very narrow, anytime I did anything like dry off from the shower or blow dry my hair, my arms were always hitting the walls. The shower is too small. I'm a small person 5'3" at 120lbs and there just wasn't enough room to confortably shower. The water is slow to drain as well. There is nothing worse than taking a shower in standing water. Finally, the staff was amazing, they speak good English and they are super helpful. In the end, I would not end up staying here again, because I would not visit Palermo again. It is probably my least favorite city in Italy.

Very beautiful and very clean - perfect location
This hotel was such a nice surprise - beautiful little gem in the middle of the old and best part of the city - near the cathedral, shopping, food - the room was beautiful, immaculate and comfortable. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Loved it.

Updated elegance in the heart of old Palermo.
This place is a gem in the middle of a gritty city but it's wonderful to be here. We arrived late evening so took a cab which was good since we would not have been able to find it. When we arrived we were surprised to find a place that looked like a palace, very chic decor on a background of antiques, marble floors, gorgeous rooms on the main floor for sitting, etc. Designer jewelry displayed in cases; I was not in the market for it but was tempted. An upscale restaurant with an enclosed seating area had just finished serving for the evening but the sommelier, Alessandro, treated us to a taste of two wines and we bought one as it was wonderful. He was very enthusiastic about the surrounding wine region and we regretted not being able to dine as the next day, Sunday, they were closed and we left on Monday. Our room was spectacular, again antique bones with updated fixtures, very airy 14' ceilings, wonderful automated lighting, fabulous bathroom, air conditioning worked great and we had a small balcony to the outside but could close the shutters to keep things cool during the day and keep it dark in the early morning. Staff were very professional at all times, well dressed, deferential and gracious despite out not being able to speak Italian. Internet connection fine. We could get American English news stations on the TV without too much technical expertise. Roomy, elegant, comfortable and a pleasure to stay here.

the hotel is excellent, room was extraordinary, within walking distance of major sights. The contrast between the neglected surrounding and the elegance of the hotel is outstanding but not very disturbing.
