This place sucks!
Air conditioning did not work even though they supposedly "fixed" it - therefore a terrible night with little sleep. It took 45 minutes to get 2 club sandwiches in the restaurant. There were only 2 other customers at the time. The "pool" requires no bathing suits for men (I don't know about women as they are in separate area) and they repeatedly tried pulling off the swim trunks of my son and grandson and staff repeatedly dropped their own pants exposing themselves for them to better understand. It was totally weird! They left and did not swim. No one that we encountered spoke English so it was quite difficult. And my folding cot was broken and when you sat on it, it collapsed. It took a few phone calls to get it replaced with a much newer one that they could have given me the first time around. Nice location and on appearance looks really nice but I would never stay there again.

The room was really nice except that the air conditioner didn't work well. We complained a few times and one of those times it seemed like it got a little colder after awhile but it was back to hot the next day. The second time we complained they said that's as good as it gets and we could always turn it off if we didn't want it to blow warm. It wouldn't have been so bad if we had at least been able to open the window since it was breezy outside but they bolt the Windows shut. Room was pretty clean as was the bathroom. The mattress really is like sleeping on a box spring and was hard by even China standards even after we slept on top of the comforter since it was so hot. Breakfast was great. Everyone is very nice but speak minimal English. We were lucky we had someone who spoke Chinese with us but even then they had trouble understanding anything. They have a booth that helps with tours but they are never there so you have to ask the front desk who don't know anything about the tours except the minimal amount of info that is on a flier that they make a copy of for you. The tour was nice but there are mandatory shopping trips that they take you on. Tour guide was knowledgeable and told us many things during the drive and spoke very good English. The biggest benefit of this hotel was that it was a very short walk to metro line 1 and 2 which take you to the Forbidden city and main train stations Not a lot to eat around here except for hotel restaurants.

Good hotel
I wish the hot springs had longer hours. They don't open until noon. It is close to the metro though which is great. The location is close to many things.
