Ripon Spa Hotel
Bedrooms are more modern and comfortable than the communal areas which look a bit tired.Staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly. I ate in the bar and there was a good selection of food including specials. Good selection at breakfast also. Large well lit car park. One of the few hotels rather than B&Bs I found in the area.

Recomend to elderly couples..
It is a lovely old hotel..It has been nice in it's heyday.... However very tired.. It needs a serious facelift..A bit too much furniture in the room.. A rejig would make a difference...On a plus note Location was very good for the city.. Breakfast was excellent..Free parking was a bonus in a city.. It's gardens were nice and well maintained Most of the guests were elderly.. ..

Pleasant Stay
Pleasant enough stay but the barking of the dog in the next room and the young children in the room above kept us awake. Great location and definitely worth visiting Ripon market square at 9pm to listen to the horn blower, an event which has taken place every night since 880. Hotel is dated and could do with some investment.

An old hotel full of character.
Well above expectations. Clean, well appointed rooms. Friendly staff. Quite quiet. Breakfast was absolutely fine with as much as you can eat. We didn't eat there on an evening as it was a bit too expensive. Lovely grounds with croquet and boules pitches. No way was this like an old people's home although most of the other guests were of the older generation. Dog and child friendly with children's menus and toys.It is an old hotel and modernising it would ruin it's character.
