Lovely historic hotel with charm
Stayed on a quiet Sunday night but there were staff everywhere so if you needed anything they were always on hand and very polite and attentive. Room was large enough for the 2 of us and bathroom was a generous size with rain shower. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and bed was comfortable. It's an old building so quirky but that’s why we chose here over a hotel chain. Gardens were nice to have a walk around too. There’s a restaurant on site but we walked half a mile to Hickory’s Smokehouse. Parking was good and they had a barrier which I presume is used overnight.

Perfection except for the aeroplanes
Beautiful place and for the age of the building the rooms were in great condition. I'll definitely be staying again. The only thing that would stop others from staying is the very low and deafening planes landing seemingly straight above our heads every five minutes, but it didn't bother me.

Good stay, nice food, I preferred main building!
This is a lovely hotel with extremely accommodating staff and truly gorgeous food (except the bread roll which was hard and warm but hard enough I could assume it to be on the stale side which was truly the only blot). The accommodation was average/standard - there wasn’t a wow factor but equally it did the job well. I actually asked to swap rooms as initially I was given a room outside the main hotel in a separate part of the estate, but it meant trying to roll a heavy suitcase across gravel and walking across a car park and then lugging the suitcase upstairs. I didn’t like this because I’d have to make my way over at night between the 2 buildings for dinner and as a single female I preferred the comfort of not having to walk across in the rain for dinner/breakfast so I settled for a lesser room in the main building instead. They happily showed me 2 available rooms and let me make a choice. One of them had a high window onto the passageway so no natural window in the room itself which I didn’t like.

Very nice overall
Overall this is a very nice hotel set in lovely grounds and nice to see historic building like this put to use rather than fall into decay. The room was nice and although the mattress was not very comfortable I still slept quite well. Cleaning needs to be reviewed as there were quite a lot of cobwebs on the ceiling. Food in the bar was nice and service good. Good fast wifi and nice walks around. Would stay again

Not sure what to write
I will be very honest .booked room very late round 1am . Got lucky got the room . Loved the location and surrounding area . Loved the overall look and size of room . Facilities comfort worth the price . Few draw backs was the slowest possible reception guy who took 30 mins at 2 am with no other person to let us go to room and then he gave us a used room first with tea in the cups and towels in the bathroom . Had to come back again to change the room . 8 o clock the church Bells was to loud to wake u up over n over again there but not hotels fault. Of course I would like to live there again but not on Saturday night .
