what a perfect stay!
Even though it was just one night stay, I had such a pleasant stay. The room is so well designed and well thought out. The shower capsule was brilliant and tatami floor and mattress was very comfy. The location is the second to none for me which is 10 - 15 minutes walk from the kyoto station. I definitely wanna stay there if I revisit kyoto. Highly recommend!

Comfortable, welcoming local accommodation
Modest but very comfortable accommodation in an excellent location close to the central train station. Management staff was exceptionally warm on reception and helpful thereafter. No hesitation to recommend.

decent room, not friendly and other flaws
Clean room with large tv, good a/c, decent location. Nice guidebook provided to help you around Kyoto. Too bad the guy who checked me in wasn't friendly. He got irritated and annoyed cause I wanted to add one day to my reservation. If you don't have an opening, it's not a problem; I can easily go down the street to another hotel - No need to get upset. Apparently, the guy doesn't like even a bit of extra work cause he gave me a nasty glare when I asked him to repeat something I miss-heard. I thought he was going to beat me up. What happened to the world-famous Japanese customer service? I get better friendly service buying a $3 coffee and to think I spent almost $400 at this place. The lighting is kind of bright and annoyingly in your eyes when laying down to relax or watch tv; Should've installed the adjustable type to dim. The bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable folding foam type; better if just had regular comfortable bed instead of raised tatami platform and foam bed. Room key need to be inserted in wall slot to power your room means I couldn't charge my pc, batteries, etc while I was out. Only one dryer and it costs 300yen to use but there's a coin laundromat across the street. Neighbors can be loudly heard when they use the shower, especially if you're unlucky to have a couple and they decide to have a conversation while one is in shower - Somehow the showering noises reverberate through the walls greatly. Some noisy traffic out the window.

Rooms were small. The shower and toilet were very good. The room service was basic with changing towels every two days. Easy location to Kyoto station and easy access to buses. A few good restaurants very close. Good English spoke by the front desk people.
