There for work, but felt like vacation
I was in Leeds for a conference and had minimal requirements: I wanted to be very near the train station and no more than a 15-20 walk to the university. I got these and so, so much more. You enter the front doors and see a low, sit-down reception desk backed by a grand wood staircase and stained glass. From that moment, whatever stress I had from traveling was removed by the calm atmosphere. My room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The the hotel bar, called the Porter's Lodge, was cozy and above the reception desk (at the top of the stairs) is a very comfortable and quiet seating area. The hotel is also a short walk from the historic shopping arcades, art and city museums, and other sites of interest.

The perfect place to "land" after along trip!
I stayed two nights to "land" before a working visit with friends. The Quebecs was the perfect place to land! Caroline is a consummate host - ever intent on making certain you have exactly what you need. Because I arrived on Valentine's Day there wasn't a table to be had for dinner and Caroline arranged for me to have my room service meal served in the bar so I didn't have to eat alone in my room, and she was ever-helpful with suggestions and directions during my brief stay. When I asked if someone could carry my very heavy bag down the front stairs, Carlos not only carried my bag down but walked me to the central train station (which is conveniently just at the end of Quebec St. I will absolutely stay at the Quebecs the next time life brings me to Leeds!

Great location, attentive personnel, generous selection of complimentary items. Some issues with WiFi initially, resolved to my satisfaction.

Delightful and spacious. Just a couple of blocks from the train station and surrounded by restaurants. Nice old and interesting hotel with great wifi and services.

The hotel is in a beautiful old building with very comfortable guest rooms and public spaces. But, the real star is Carolyn. She knows the hotel and area history also the best places to shop and dine. She welcomes you into the hotel and remembers everyone's name. Quebecs would not be as grande without her.
