Basic comforts, friendly staff
The overall area is your typical Northwest coastal destination. We chose the Polynesian since we needed a room that was pet friendly. Upon check in, we were given a non pet room, but they told us it would be fine. The actual room was very spacious though it looked quite worn down and the comforters felt like they were filled with plastic batting. The walk to the beach isn't an official path, which was too difficult for some of our older members, but there is a drive nearby to get there by car. The free breakfast was very basic and even during our travel during the off season, it wasn't easy finding a table (there are only four in the actual dining area).

Best place for your buck
I can not recommend this place enough! They are so friendly. Even though it was a busy weekend, they upgraded our room, gave us a great deal when we extended our stay (should have booked through them directly for the whole stay). It’s not the fanciest place in the world, but it’s right on the beach, huge room. We had deer eating out of our hands one morning in the yard area. Can’t beat it.

Nice overnight trip to Ocean Shores
Overall good, what I expected. No free breakfast on Sundays, despite what my booking said, but I got that credited back to me by at least. Just be aware although it says "oceanfront" you can't just walk out back on the beach. There is an impassable swampy forest separating the hotel from the actual ocean beach. We drove a few miles down to Damon Point instead. What I liked most was the breakfast buffet, on site restaurant, hot tub, indoor heated pool, and sauna.

Misleading Breakfast Promise, Several at Fault
There was one issue ruling how this trip was for this group of five. When I made this reservation on at the Polynesian Resort of Ocean Shores, Washington, the resort was shown to have daily continental breakfast. After I booked the non-refundable reservation, I got an email telling me that breakfast is not served on Sunday, the one morning that we would be there. I phoned the hotel and they said it was the fault of and wanted to do nothing about it. Eventually, the hotel manager offered us breakfast for TWO at a nearby restaurant. Remember, we were reserved as a party of five. I called and got an operator with terrible English. After maybe a half hour on the phone, she told me to send a receipt for any breakfast cost that I had to cover and they would reimburse me. I did send them a scanned copy of the receipt promptly. No refund appeared during the next week. I phoned again--they had lost my refund request and told me to resubmit it. Now, two weeks after the hotel stay, I'm still waiting for my breakfast refund. Frankly, with all the trouble I've had, and/or the Polynesian should do much more for me to cover for my inconvenience. Stay away from this resort if you want a reliable breakfast and stay away from if you want a booking site to take responsibility properly.

My trip to the ocean
I am a 24/7 caregiver and I needed a break. I enjoyed my trip by my self. I was able to do as I wanted without having to take care of others. There was a nice pool, hot tub and sauna. Plus a game room with a pool table and video game machines. A perfect place for a family or couple. It also allows dogs which lots of people take on trips now. The bathroom was small but it had everything you needed. Plus the breakfast wasn't bad. There was even a tiny kitchen and dishes if you wanted to cook. I plan to take my husband next yr. as I think he will enjoy this place. It's not fancy but was great for me, I can't wait to visit again.
