Nostalgic room setting with great view!
The hotel is located in the main street but the rooms are quite because they are located away from the street. If you're driving, be advised that they have limited parking space. They have nostalgic room setting with a small balcony facing the great scenery. They have one room available on the main floor for personnel who uses wheel chairs... there are no escalator or elevator available to the guests. Breakfast is available between 7:30am to 10:30am with limited selections. Orders can be placed the night before and can be delivered to your room on specified time. Staff is courteous and very customer oriented... service is fast to include room service and maintenance.

Great view and location, average accomodations
The view from the rooms of Joaquin's B&B were the best part of this B&B, high up in Tagaytay overlooking Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. It's also cooler up there. The room was adequate, with mosquito netting for the bed which wasn't needed in early April, fortunately. Unfortunately the breakfast was nothing special but maybe that's because we only chose the American-style fixed menu. Free wifi is only available near the lobby, which is one or two stories above your room.

Better than Expected
This place is awesome! Much better than I expected. The only other place I have stayed is up the road at the Taal Vista Resort so its the only comparison I can make for this area. I would choose this place hands down. Its much more comfortable and the staff is excellent. Doesn't feel like a big hotel chain because its not. Feels more like a bedroom in your house with an amazing view. AC worked great...breakfast was really good and right on time. You can eat up stairs if you wish and look at the amazing view...or eat inside your room or on the patio or garden area in private with the amazing view. What I really liked about this place is the view and the location. Restaurants and stores within walking distance. New Mall within very short Jeepeny ride. Everything was very close. At the Taal Vista....everything was NOT within walking distance. Good place to book during the week because the price takes a pretty big jump on the weekends. I book for 2 days and stayed for 4. 5 Stars all the way I am super picky.

Excellent Concept Badly Executed
Every room has a fantastic view of Lake Tall and the volcano and the hotel is near to restaurants and shops. The rooms have a hot water kettle and a nice flat screen TV with a good channel line-up; if there was a refrigerator, I couldn't find it. The room with the queen-sized bed was particularly attractive and had many nice decorative touches. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had requested a queen-sized bed, but was assigned a twin - bedded room when we checked in because the hotel was full and there were no more rooms left with queen-sized beds. After the first night, I asked if we could move to a room with a queen-sized bed and they immediately arranged it. When I ordered my room service breakfast at the reception, the menu specified that I could choose two fillings for my omelet, but I wanted three, which they arranged without charging me extra. Now the problem areas. Maintenance was poor, to say the least. The wood floors were uneven and even had holes in them that could easily causer you to trip and fall down. The doors stuck, perhaps because the wood in the doors had expanded. One light in the bathroom was burned out and the other, also a compact florescent, took at least three minutes to warm up and give off enough light to be useful. The fake gold plating was coming off the faucetts. The curtains had been pulled down from the railings at both ends. I could go on, but I think rates will get the picture. There were other minor annoyances; for example, breakfast was cold when it arrived because the plates were not preheated and they did not use cloches (plate covers) to retain the heat. Or consider that there were only four parking places (five if you count the steep driveway) for eight rooms. And, there is no restaurant in the hotel! Did we enjoy our stay? Absolutely! Would we ever return? Never! Would I recommend this hotel to first time visitors to Tagaytay? Absolutely!

1 night stay
The other reviews are pretty much spot on. The parking is not enough for the number of rooms they have. Some cars need to double park, which makes getting in and out a pain. Food was ok, not great but not bad. The only bad thing I encountered during my stay, which they have no control over, is that the property next door is under construction. They started work at 7 am. no problem for us as we were already up, but to some people that might be an issue. I would definitely recommend paying a little extra for a room with a small patio. Those rooms have a better view
