Nishitetsu Inn Fukuoka, Fukuoka
A room with two full-size beds for a family of three (2 adults, 1 child); the room was quite large by Japanese standards, the bathroom felt compact but even had a bath tub, the bed was okay, the room felt a bit outdated but very clean. Awesome -- and perhaps typical Japanese -- service: check-out is early at 10am, but the hotel stored our luggage until we returned at 6pm. The hotel Front Desk called a cab -- with a smile and polite bow as we left; I almost felt bad for not tipping (had heard tipping, while increasingly common, is still not a common practice). The best part about this hotel is the location; walk in any direction and you will come across typical Japanese shopping and cuisine. The Canal City shopping complex (with plenty of restaurants) is within 10-15 minute walking distance. Walk along the river during nighttime between the hotel and the Canal City shopping complex and you will encounter street food vendors full of local Japanese. The hotel appeared to be designed for business travelers (we saw four airline crew checking in) but I would stay at this hotel for family vacation.

Clean and Basic Hotel in a Central Location
The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Tenjin train station. It is also located near major shopping and dining areas. The room was basic but clean and in good condition. Wi-fi connection was good. In summary, it is a good hotel for exploring the area as well as for business.

Great location, especially for the price point.
The hotel was beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the staff spoke fantastic English and were very friendly. The area around the hotel is great, with all the rivers flowing past, there are great opportunities for wonderful pictures. About a 10 minute walk away is a shopping mall with tons of stores and great restaurants, including the famous Ichiran Ramen, which I highly recommend. Not to mention that the Hakata Station is a short trip away by subway. All in all, a wonderful value for the money. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Fukuoka.

Found this basic room to be very comfortable. Just needed a room to sleep in before a flight out in the morning, room was clean and staff was very helpful. Thank you!

Great one night stop!
I stayed at this hotel for one night while waiting for my flight out of Fukuoka airport. The hotel was easy to find and was very clean. The room was normal size for a hotel room in Japan (a little small), but it was clean and well kept. The view of the canal very pretty. Staff was very nice and check it was easy. Generally good location too. Walking distance from good food and subway exits, and 10 minute walk away from two major malls in Fukuoka. I would certainly stay here again if travelling by myself.
